Be superstitious about painless abortion and beware of breast cancer

The lack of contraceptive knowledge and self-protection awareness has led women to the embarrassing situation of accidental pregnancy. It has become a familiar topic for people to relieve troubles after an accidental pregnancy by abortion, but they have no idea how much damage abortion surgery will bring to their bodies, especially the breasts that women regard as their second life.

According to Professor Wang Guimian, a breast cancer expert, the number of abortions has been growing younger in recent years, and there are even adolescent girls under the age of 18. Some of these young girls have to have abortions due to illness, but the vast majority do so because they do not seriously implement family planning or do not care about artificial abortions. As abortion technology is becoming more and more advanced, especially after the continuous application of painless and minimally invasive technologies in gynecological clinics, painless abortions have become simpler and easier, so many women choose abortions without hesitation after an unexpected pregnancy. It is generally believed that more than three abortions are considered multiple abortions, and abortion-induced breast diseases account for about 40%, which is the main cause of the increase in the incidence of breast cancer. Large-scale epidemiological surveys have shown that estrogen has a potential promoting effect on the occurrence of breast cancer.

Abortion is the artificial and forced sudden termination of pregnancy. Regarding the principle of abortion inducing breast cancer, Professor Wang Guimian explained that the development and growth of female breasts depends on hormone stimulation. In addition to the coordination of pituitary hormones, there are mainly estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen promotes the growth of mammary ducts and periductal parenchymal tissue; progesterone promotes the development of breast lobules and alveolar structures. During pregnancy, the hormone level in women's bodies rises, the ducts and alveoli of the mammary glands develop vigorously, the blood vessels increase, and the mammary glands swell. After abortion, the embryo is removed, the chorionic gonadotropin produced by pregnancy decreases sharply, and the levels of estrogen and progesterone in the body decrease accordingly, the growth of the mammary gland stops suddenly, the alveoli shrink, and the breast recovers. However, this recovery is usually incomplete, which can cause mammary congestion and lumps, resulting in a variety of breast diseases. Because abortion is different from childbirth. Childbirth is a natural physiological process, while abortion is a forced termination of pregnancy, which can easily cause breast pain, or induce diseases such as lobular hyperplasia, cause lumps, and greatly increase the chance of breast cancer.

In addition, breast cancer experts particularly emphasize the harm of artificial abortion to adolescent girls under the age of 18. According to clinical surveys, women who have artificial abortions before the age of 18 have a 110% higher chance of developing breast cancer than other women. Before the age of 18, women's breasts and other organs are still very tender and more susceptible to estrogen stimulation. Artificial termination of pregnancy will cause a sudden increase in estrogen levels, which will stimulate the mammary duct epithelial cells from normal development to abnormal proliferation.

Clinical medical trials have shown that for women without a family history of breast cancer, compared with women who have never been pregnant, the risk index of breast cancer for women who have had 1-2 miscarriages is 0.9; while the risk index for women with a family history of breast cancer and a history of miscarriage is as high as 1.5. In addition, it is worth noting that women who have artificial abortions before the age of 18 or after the age of 30 have a higher rate of breast cancer. Therefore, the more miscarriages, the greater the risk of breast cancer.

Women who have undergone multiple abortions should be more careful than ordinary people and be alert to the occurrence of breast diseases. In the prevention and treatment of breast cancer, it is particularly important to strengthen cancer prevention awareness, increase the degree of attention to breast cancer, and promptly and regularly go to breast specialists for examinations to detect suspicious lesions early and receive timely treatment. However, many women, due to their busy work and life, neglect to regularly check their breast health and lack breast self-protection awareness. Because breast cancer is a very hidden disease, no symptoms can be seen from the surface of the breast. Abnormal conditions may only occur in the late stage of the disease, which also causes the bitter consequences of breast cancer in the late stage for many women.

Professor Wang Guimian, a breast cancer expert, pointed out that abortion is a method of artificial termination of pregnancy, and in family planning, it is a last resort remedial measure. Women of childbearing age should try to avoid abortion. She hopes that women will take practical actions to care for breast health and cherish life. She suggested that women aged 20-40 should do a breast self-examination within one week after their menstrual leave every month, and have a clinical examination or mammography performed by a professional physician every two years; women aged 40-49 should do a professional breast examination once a year in addition to regular breast self-examination every month; and women over the age of 50 should do regular breast self-examination every month, and clinical breast examination and mammography every year. What is most worthy of female friends' attention is that whether breast cancer can be cured depends mainly on whether the patient has taken appropriate treatment measures in a timely manner, in addition to being closely related to the patient's physical function and mentality.
