What are the early symptoms of gastric cancer

Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in my country, and its incidence rate ranks first among all tumors in my country. Early gastric cancer is usually asymptomatic or has only mild symptoms. When clinical symptoms are obvious, the disease is already in the late stage. Therefore, we must be very vigilant about the early symptoms of gastric cancer to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.

Early symptoms of stomach cancer include:

1. Upper abdominal pain

About 1/4 of patients have the same pain pattern as peptic ulcer, while the elderly have dull pain perception, mostly manifested as abdominal distension, upper abdominal pain accounts for 30% to 70%. If the above abdominal pain often recurs, or the intervals are getting shorter and shorter, you should be alert.

2. Gastrointestinal bleeding

Common symptoms include hematemesis, black stools, and positive stool occult blood. In the early stages of gastric cancer, there may be a small amount of bleeding. Hematemesis accounts for 7% to 15%, and black stools account for 23% to 45%. The positive rate of stool occult blood is relatively high, accounting for 87.6% of gastric body cancer and 64.4% of cardia cancer. If stool occult blood is continuously positive, it is helpful for the diagnosis of gastric cancer.

3. Upper abdominal fullness

It is often the earliest symptom of gastric cancer in the elderly, sometimes accompanied by belching, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting. If the tumor is located at the entrance of the stomach (cardia), the patient may feel that eating is not smooth; if the tumor is located at the exit of the stomach (pylorus), when obstruction occurs, the patient may vomit out rotten overnight food.

4. Loss of appetite, weight loss and fatigue

According to statistics, about 50% of elderly patients have obvious loss of appetite, weight loss, and fatigue, and 40%-60% of patients seek medical treatment due to weight loss. If accompanied by upper abdominal pain and hepatitis can be ruled out, it should be more vigilant.

According to the survey, 83.3% of patients with early gastric cancer suffer from upper abdominal pain, 36% suffer from upper abdominal discomfort, 37.8% suffer from stomach bloating, 39.5% suffer from loss of appetite, 37.5% suffer from acid reflux, and 33.8% suffer from weight loss.

Through the above explanation, we know what the early symptoms of gastric cancer are. Experts remind everyone: pay attention to the precursors of gastric cancer in life. If you have no history of gastric disease but have symptoms suspected of early gastric cancer in the near future, you must not easily think it is a common gastric disease. You must pay great attention to it and strive for more detailed examinations.
