What to do if there is bleeding in the stool after hemorrhoid surgery

Bleeding in the stool after hemorrhoid surgery is related to surgical defecation and hemorrhoids themselves. For example, if the window does not heal after surgery, bleeding will occur at the wound, or if the wound is rubbed by dry feces during defecation after the wound heals, bleeding symptoms will also occur.

1. It is related to the characteristics of surgery, defecation and hemorrhoids themselves:

① Bleeding from the wound: Blood in the stool may occur for a period of time after injection, ligation, or surgical removal of hemorrhoids. This is because there is a wound after the operation, which will rub and bleed during defecation. Once the wound heals, it will stop bleeding.

② Bleeding from wound surface: When internal hemorrhoids necrotize and fall off, a larger fresh wound surface appears, and bleeding may be more than usual. This is a normal stage in the wound healing process. Some people may also experience heavy bleeding during this period, and emergency hemostasis is required;

③ Dry and bleeding stool: Some wounds have healed and do not need further treatment. However, because the wounds are tender and thin, they are rubbed by dry stool and cause blood in the stool. At this time, just pay attention to regulating the stool to make it smooth and not dry and hard, and protect the wound surface, and you can avoid the occurrence of blood in the stool.

2. Bloody stool after hemorrhoid surgery is related to other diseases:

① Suffering from hemorrhoids, as well as proctitis, dysentery, chronic colitis, rectal polyps, etc. At that time, only the hemorrhoids were cured, and other diseases were not treated or were not detected at the time. Therefore, even though the hemorrhoids were cured, blood in the stool may still occur again.

② It occurs when internal hemorrhoids are cured and then the patient develops other anorectal diseases that may cause bloody stools, such as anal fissure, anal cryptitis, intestinal polyps, etc.

If people sit or stand for a long time while working, they may develop hemorrhoids, so surgery does not mean all is well. If you do not pay attention to maintenance after hemorrhoid surgery, the hemorrhoidal veins in the rectum and anal canal will still often become congested, and new hemorrhoids may form.

3. Choose a regular hospital to treat hemorrhoids

It is worth noting that patients with rectal cancer are not given a detailed examination and are only satisfied with the detection of hemorrhoids and receive treatment based on hemorrhoidal bleeding. However, when the bleeding in the stool continues even after the hemorrhoids have been cured, further examination may reveal rectal cancer. This is not uncommon and may even cause the patient to lose the opportunity for early treatment. This must be taken seriously.

4. Therefore, for the examination and treatment of hemorrhoids, patients must choose a regular hospital. When choosing a regular hospital, you should consider the hospital's qualifications, technology, and experts from many aspects to avoid misdiagnosis and delayed treatment.
