What is the most effective way to relieve itching after insect bites

After being bitten by mosquitoes, a big lump will usually appear on the skin, and there will be an itchy feeling. This is something that everyone hates, and no matter how you scratch it, it still feels itchy. If you want to deal with the itching after mosquito bites, you can use soap, garlic slices, ammonia water, etc. These methods can effectively relieve itching.

Swelling Reduction Method

Soap

Because the venom left by mosquito bites is acidic and soapy water is alkaline, after being bitten by a mosquito, applying soapy water will produce a "neutralization reaction" with the formic acid under the human skin, and the person will no longer feel itchy.

Note: After washing the itchy area with soapy water, do not scratch it with your hands, it will heal soon.

ammonia

Use your fingers to gently press the mosquito bite to prevent the mosquito secretions from spreading under the skin. Then apply a little ammonia water. The swelling and itching will be reduced in about 10 minutes. Ammonia can be purchased at pharmacies or hospitals.

Garlic flakes

Cut the garlic into thin slices and apply it to the red and swollen area for a few minutes, and you will see obvious results.

Note: People with skin allergies should use with caution

washing powder

Rinse the bitten area with clean water, do not wipe it dry completely, then use a wet finger to dip a little detergent and apply it to the bitten area. It can immediately stop itching and the redness and swelling will disappear quickly. After the redness and swelling disappear, rinse off the detergent with clean water.

toothpaste

Squeeze out a small amount of toothpaste, dip it in some water, and apply it to the swollen area.

Note: When choosing toothpaste, one should choose one with strong anti-inflammatory effect, while the other one should choose one with stronger alkalinity, which will be more effective.

Aspirin tablets

Crush the aspirin tablets into powder, add a small amount of water, mix well, and apply it on the swollen skin. It has the effect of reducing inflammation and swelling.

Rice porridge with alkali

Add edible alkali to rice porridge, serve it in a small bowl, and a layer of film will appear on the surface of the rice porridge after it cools down. Pick out this film and it will melt. Apply it to the place where the bulge appears to reduce swelling. It can also be used to relieve itching.

Vitamin C

Grind the vitamin C tablets into powder, then dilute it with a small amount of water. Dip a sterile cotton swab in the diluted liquid and apply it directly to the affected area to reduce swelling and relieve itching.

Liushen Pills + Rice Vinegar

When bitten by a mosquito, use 10 Liushen Pills and mix them with a little rice vinegar to make a paste. Apply it evenly on the mosquito bite. Apply 3-5 times a day. Even the biggest red envelope can be cured.

Anti-itching method

brine

After being bitten by mosquitoes, apply, wash or soak the itchy area with salt water to soften the mosquito bites and quickly relieve itching.

Floral water, essential oil

If the bite is very itchy, you can flick it with your fingers first, and then apply floral water, wind oil, etc.

Note: If a baby develops a lump after being bitten by a mosquito, the mother should not apply medicated oil or floral water to the baby at will. These things are not effective and may get into the baby's eyes or mouth. If the bite site is severely red and swollen, or the bitten area is scratched and has ulcers and fluid infection, please go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment in time.

Raw onions

Use raw onions to repeatedly wipe the red and swollen areas caused by mosquito bites. This can have a good anti-inflammatory, bactericidal and antipruritic effect.

Mint

Use three or five pieces of mint, wash and mash them, apply them on the affected skin, and remove them after 15 minutes. This can effectively relieve itching.

Chlorophytum leaf

Take a few leaves of spider plant, wash them, rub them slightly in your hands to allow the juice to seep out, and apply them to the bite. It can eliminate swelling and relieve itching.

Purslane Leaves

Wash several fresh purslane leaves, rub them in your hands to extract the juice, and apply them to the affected area. It has an anti-itching and anti-swollen effect.

Aloe Vera Leaf

Cut a small piece of aloe vera leaf (it is best to use fresh aloe vera, the kind that is long and curved with many thorns), wash it, break it apart, and apply it to the affected area. It can quickly reduce swelling and relieve itching. You can also peel and extract the flesh of fresh aloe vera and apply it to mosquito bites to relieve itching.

Allergy medicine

When bitten by a poisonous mosquito, no matter what kind of anti-allergic medicine you take, as long as you slightly wet the allergy medicine and apply it repeatedly to the affected area, it can quickly relieve the itching effect.
