What to do if your skin is allergic to mango

Mango is rich in nutrients and is a fruit that people love to eat. However, due to personal constitution, a small number of people have allergic reactions to mangoes, and experience symptoms such as itching, redness and swelling. What should we do if our skin is allergic to mangoes? Such people should not touch mangoes in the future. If the skin itching is severe, use anti-allergic drugs. Never scratch to avoid scratching the skin and causing infection. Let’s take a closer look at what to do if your skin is allergic to mangoes.

Causes of mango allergy

1. Mangoes contain fruit acids, amino acids, various proteins and other substances that irritate the skin. In addition, unripe mangoes also contain aldehyde acid, which can irritate the skin and mucous membranes and cause allergies.

2. Most people who are allergic to mangoes have allergic constitutions and generally have low immunity. For example, some children are prone to allergic dermatitis after eating mangoes. This is mainly because children eat fruit in a "face-washing" manner, which means that when eating fruit, it is easy for the juice to get on their faces and bodies. In addition, children have thinner skin and poorer resistance, so their chances of suffering from fruit rash are much higher than adults.

3. Mangoes are grown in poor conditions and have been sprayed with pesticides. Harmful chemicals in the pesticides may also cause mango allergies.

How to treat mango allergy

① Many people rush to the hospital or pharmacy to buy some anti-allergic ointments and tablets to relieve the symptoms when they are allergic to mangoes. However, the allergic symptoms will occur again the next time they eat mangoes. Repeated use of anti-allergic drugs will bring many side effects, and severe ones may lead to dependent dermatitis. So it is not recommended.

② When eating, cut the mango into small pieces, or use a blender to make it into paste and eat it with a straw. In short, try to minimize the contact between mango and skin. Wash your hands immediately after peeling the mango.

③After the allergic symptoms appeared, I used pearl powder for dry compress and found the effect was good. Although it was not an immediate effect, it had the effect of relieving itching and astringing. Also, my allergy tends to be more like eczema, so ointments and liquid medicines don't seem to be suitable.
