1. First use boiling water to wash off the outer layer of wax. After washing, be sure to soak it in concentrated salt water for a day. Concentrated salt water is made by boiling water, adding salt while it is hot, and adding until it no longer dissolves.

The purpose of soaking the wood in concentrated salt water for a day is to allow salt to cover the surface of the wood. Salt absorbs moisture and can prevent the wood from drying out and cracking.

Take it out after soaking, heat a pot of oil, wait until it cools to about 70 degrees, apply it on the surface of the chopping board, let it sit for a while, then apply it again, and apply it several times.

When the oil is almost absorbed, wipe it dry with paper and the cutting board can be used.

2. Place the cutting board flat on the bracket. Apply vegetable oil on both sides, let it dry, and then apply it repeatedly until the vegetable oil penetrates into the wood and reaches saturation. For several consecutive days, the oil consumption depends on the size of the cutting board, generally only more than 250 grams.

After being treated with vegetable oil, the cutting board will not crack no matter how long it takes.

After using the bamboo or wooden cutting board for a period of time, you can scrape off the wood chips on the cutting board with a kitchen knife, or use a woodworking plane to plane it, so as to completely remove the dirt on the cutting board and keep the cutting board flat for easy use.

3. Cutting boards are generally made of wood. Since wooden cutting boards have seams or holes in them, they are prone to breeding bacteria. Therefore, they should be washed frequently or poured with boiling water to keep them clean and hygienic.

4. In the hot summer, due to the humid air, the cutting board is prone to mold, so every time you use the cutting board, wipe it with a clean cloth and place it in a ventilated place to dry;

5. If the chopping board is moldy, you can put it in rice washing water or detergent to scrub it, then wash it with clean water and place it in a ventilated place to dry. However, do not expose a wet chopping board to the sun easily to prevent it from deforming and affecting its use.
