Will my teeth fall out when I get older if I wear braces?

Nowadays, many parents are worried that they don’t pay special attention to their children’s tooth replacement, which leads to uneven teeth and even the need to wear braces for a long time. However, I heard that those who wear braces for a long time will lose their teeth quickly when they are old. In fact, this is not true science. Uneven teeth will lead to bad teeth and cause them to fall out. Correcting teeth is a common and safe method.

Methods/Steps

When they first put on the braces, my cousin both said it was very uncomfortable. After all, there was something clamped on the teeth, and the teeth could feel the external force, which inevitably caused a feeling of swelling and pain. Generally speaking, as long as the pain is not very severe, it is normal. If the pain is unbearable, there may be some problems when the dentist is treating you, and you should see a doctor as soon as possible for adjustment.

There will be some discomfort in the first few days after wearing braces. At this time, it is best to only eat some semi-liquid foods, such as noodles, porridge, etc., which do not require much effort to chew and can alleviate some of the discomfort in the teeth. Once the discomfort disappears, you can resume your normal diet.

Although you can eat and drink normally once you've adjusted to your braces, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, maltose and toffee candy are very sticky, while pecans and pine nuts have hard shells. The former will stick to the braces and are not easy to clean, while the latter may cause damage to the braces.

After wearing braces, brushing teeth becomes a very troublesome thing. Originally, you only needed to brush the surface of the teeth with a toothbrush, but now there are some more "obstacles", which increases the difficulty of brushing teeth. Moreover, it is easy for some residues to get embedded in the gaps of braces when eating, so it is definitely not enough to just brush your teeth twice a day, morning and evening. As long as you have eaten, you must clean it in time, otherwise over time, these food residues will cause redness and swelling of the gums and even periodontitis.

You must strictly follow the doctor's instructions and go to the dentist for follow-up visits regularly. The doctor will make specific adjustments based on your correction progress and recovery status and give corresponding suggestions.
