Treatment Tips

During treatment, the following issues should also be noted:

To achieve good results in the treatment of post-concussion syndrome, the diagnosis must be correct first.

The diagnosis of concussion is relatively easy, and the main basis is: a history of head trauma; a brief disturbance of consciousness (generally less than 30 minutes) and recent amnesia; and no abnormalities in neurological examination. In addition, there are symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, memory loss, and inability to concentrate after a concussion. It should be noted that a comprehensive neurological examination should be performed to rule out possible intracranial and extracranial lesions that may have been missed. Especially for patients who are suspected of having hematoma caused by chronic intracranial hemorrhage and are in the intermediate stage of consciousness, the changes in their condition should be closely observed to avoid delaying treatment. After a concussion occurs, do not suggest that the patient may have post-concussion symptoms. After the sequelae of concussion are formed, treatment should be actively carried out. Avoid being hasty and never treat the patient with contempt or sarcasm. The patient's doubts should be relieved and more care and encouragement should be given to enhance the patient's confidence in recovery.
