What to do if acute appendicitis occurs suddenly

Sudden acute appendicitis is a very troubling problem for many people. As the name suggests, this type of appendicitis often occurs rapidly and the pain is very severe. The problem of appendicitis must be taken seriously and treatment measures must be taken promptly. When acute appendicitis occurs suddenly, a diagnosis is required to determine the treatment plan. So what should you do if you suddenly suffer from acute appendicitis?

1. Sudden acute appendicitis usually requires surgery. Once acute appendicitis is diagnosed, the appendix should be removed as soon as possible. It is necessary to ensure that the child rests in bed and does not do strenuous exercise to prevent the tumor from rupturing and the spread of inflammation. In this case, it is best to have regular ultrasound examinations. At the same time, it is recommended to pay attention to rest, strengthen diet and nutrition, and combine the doctor's infusion of anti-inflammatory drugs and other treatments after the operation.

2. Acute appendicitis can occur at all ages, with the highest incidence in young people. The main symptom is abdominal pain, which usually starts around the navel and upper abdomen, gradually intensifies, and after a few hours the pain moves to the lower right abdomen. The abdominal pain becomes persistent. When the pain is severe, the patient really cannot bend his waist, and may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, fever, and loss of appetite. If you slowly press your hand down and then suddenly remove it, the inflamed appendix will hit the adjacent internal organs and stimulate pain, which is medically called rebound pain.

3. Most patients have a distinct tender point in the appendix. As the lesion stimulates the receptors of the appendix, impulses are transmitted to the central nervous system, which reflexively causes contraction of the abdominal wall muscles, manifesting as tension in the right lower abdominal muscles. Once the appendix perforates and causes peritonitis, tension in the right lower abdomen or the entire abdominal muscles may occur. Tenderness and muscle tension are also of certain significance in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis. When abdominal pain is suspected to be acute appendicitis, do not take painkillers blindly, but go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.
