What does negative positive blood mean

When we go to the hospital to check our blood, we often see positive or negative written on the physical examination form. However, which result is better, positive or negative? This requires us to know what state of the blood is normal. In fact, when the blood is negative, it may cause us to have no D antigen, and when it is positive, it means that the blood system is normal.

The negative and positive blood type refers to the presence or absence of the "D" antigen in the RH blood group system. There are many human blood type systems, the most important of which are the ABO blood type system and the RH blood type system. In the ABO blood group system, there is no distinction between positive or negative blood types; in the RH blood group system, RH positive refers to the presence of D antigen, and RH negative refers to the absence of D antigen. Whether the RH blood type is positive or negative, it is normal.

The Rh blood group system, which means Rhesus Macacus blood group system, is a blood group system for humans, which is divided into negative and positive. When a person's red blood cells contain a D blood type substance (antigen), it is called Rh positive, indicated by Rh(+); when the D antigen is absent, it is called Rh negative, indicated by Rh(-). Most people are positive. The Rh system may be the most complex system of red blood cell types, second only to the ABO system in importance.

Rh yin and yang difference

Depending on the presence or absence of the Rh factor, Rh-negative and Rh-positive blood types can be distinguished. This blood type system is called the Rh blood type system.

Rh is the first two letters of the foreign name of rhesus monkey (Rhesus Macacus). In 1940, when scientists such as Landsteiner conducted animal experiments, they discovered the presence of Rh blood type antigens on the red blood cells of rhesus monkeys and most people, hence the name. Anyone who has Rh agglutinogen on the red blood cells of human blood is Rh positive. The opposite is negative. This means that the four main blood types that have been discovered, A, B, O and AB, are further divided into Rh positive and negative.

With the continuous research on Rh blood type, it is believed that the Rh blood type system may be the most complex blood type system among red blood cells. The discovery of Rh blood type plays a very important role in guiding blood transfusion more scientifically, further improving the experimental diagnosis of neonatal hemolytic disease and maintaining the health of mothers and babies. According to relevant information, Rh positive blood type accounts for about 99.7% of the Han nationality and most ethnic groups in my country, and about 90% of some ethnic minorities. Among some ethnic groups abroad, about 85% of people have Rh positive blood type, and among white people in Europe and America, about 15% have Rh negative blood type.

RH negative people cannot accept RH positive blood because the antigens in RH positive blood will stimulate RH negative bodies to produce RH antibodies. If RH positive blood is transfused again, it may lead to hemolytic transfusion reaction. However, an RH positive person can receive blood from an RH negative person.

Rh positive blood

About 85% of people have Rh positive blood type, which is common among most people. It can accept both male and female blood of its own blood type without causing any symptoms.

Rh negative blood

Rh-negative blood, known as "panda blood", may be the blood type of the ancient "Atlantic" people based on cultural archaeology, physiological evolution, racial distribution and molecular clock theory. They had a different evolutionary path from the vast majority of Cro-Magnons. They were Neanderthals who entered Western Europe directly from North Africa, quickly occupied Atlantis, and established the first prehistoric civilization by leaps and bounds. Perhaps due to a great flood at the end of the Ice Age more than 10,000 years ago, their civilization was completely destroyed, and some Atlantis people fled to Western Europe. Later, when the Cro-Magnons entered Europe and merged with the Atlantians, the Rh-negative blood gradually dispersed.

4. Rh-blood type

The Rh(-) gene is a recessive gene. When Rh(+) parents both carry the Rh(-) gene and pass on the Rh(-) gene to their offspring, their children will be Rh(-). When one of the parents is Rh(-), the chance of their children being Rh(-) increases, and vice versa.

The distribution of Rh(-) varies greatly among different races. The proportion is higher among Caucasians, about 15%. Among the Chinese population, the distribution of Rh(-) among ethnic minorities such as the Uyghurs in Xinjiang is 5%. The Mongolians have a distribution of Rh(-) close to 1%. The Han people have an extremely small proportion, only 0.3%, which is a rare blood type. If both the ABO and Rh blood type systems are considered at the same time, the chance of finding an AB type Rh(-) homotype person in the Han population is less than 0.3%, which is very rare.
