The HPV18 virus causes nipple cancer. It causes mutations in the human skin and mucous membranes. It is difficult to treat this virus. Our best way is to prevent it from happening in normal times. In normal times, we should pay attention to personal hygiene, but we know that when HPV18 is positive, it can cause breast cancer, which is a very serious disease and requires timely treatment. Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a genus of papillomavirus A belonging to the family Papovaviridae. It is a spherical DNA virus that can cause squamous epithelial proliferation in human skin and mucous membranes. More than 130 types have been isolated so far. Different types cause different clinical manifestations. According to the different tissue sites invaded, they can be divided into: (1) Low-risk skin types: including HPV1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 10, 12, 15, etc., which are associated with common warts, flat warts, plantar warts, etc.; (2) High-risk skin types: including HPV5, 8, 14, 17, 20, 36, and 38, which are associated with epidermodysplasia verruciformis. Other malignant tumors that may be associated with HPV infection include: vulvar cancer, penile cancer, anal cancer, prostate cancer, and bladder cancer. (3) Low-risk mucosal types such as HPV-6, 11, 13, 32, 34, 40, 42, 43, 44, 53, 54, etc., which infect the genital, anal, oropharyngeal, and esophageal mucosa; (4) Mucosal high-risk HPV-16, 18, 30, 31, 33, 35, 39 and cervical cancer, rectal cancer, oral cancer, tonsil cancer, etc. It is estimated that the HPV infection rate among Chinese women is about 16%, and 60% to 70% of women have been infected with HPV in their lifetime. Among young girls under 30 years old (especially under 25 years old), the transient HPV infection rate is as high as 91%, among which the high-risk infection rate is as high as over 40%. In other words, it is very common for young women of childbearing age to test positive for HPV. Most HPV infections are transient, just like the common cold virus, and do not require any treatment. The body gradually eliminates the virus through its own immune system. HPV-positive patients do not need to undergo repeated examinations in a short period of time because the virus will not disappear in the short term. It has been reported that the clearance time for low-risk HPV infection is about 8 months, and the clearance time for high-risk HPV infection is about 13 months. The one-year negative conversion rate for HPV infection is 80%, and the two-year negative conversion rate is 91%. Only less than 10% of high-risk HPVs can show a persistent infection state, and then gradually develop into precancerous lesions or even cervical cancer, which often takes 5 to 15 years. There are corresponding treatment methods for each stage from HPV infection, liquid-based cell abnormalities to cervical precancerous lesions. And at any stage of precancerous lesions, there is a possibility that they will improve on their own. China's early diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer is in full swing. We follow the guidance of specialists, have regular check-ups, and complete cervical liquid-based cytology screening, colposcopy and evaluation according to the process, and perform multiple cervical tissue pathological biopsies when necessary. Among the three common malignant tumors of the female reproductive system, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, and endometrial cancer, the prognosis of cervical cancer is relatively good. Data show that the five-year survival rates for cervical cancer are 81.6% for stage I, 61.3% for stage II, 36.7% for stage III, and 12.1% for stage IV. Every year, about 500,000 women develop cervical cancer due to HPV infection, but they are mainly concentrated in underdeveloped countries and their ages are mainly between 40 and 60 years old. We take the issue of cervical cancer seriously but we don't need to worry too much about it. A positive HPV result is still a long way from cervical cancer. If cervical lesions are discovered in the early stages and treated promptly, very few people will actually die from cervical cancer. Most of the patients with advanced cervical cancer seen clinically are those who do not undergo regular physical examinations. |
