Tonsillitis in summer

Tonsillitis in summer

Tonsillitis is a very common phenomenon. There are many reasons for tonsillitis. Tonsillitis is generally divided into acute tonsillitis and chronic tonsillitis. Acute tonsillitis is mostly caused by bacterial or viral infection due to decreased body resistance. Usually, patients will have symptoms such as fever, headache, and sore throat. This disease is most common in teenagers and children. What are the symptoms of tonsillitis in summer?

What are the symptoms of tonsillitis?

1. Patients are prone to sore throats, especially after catching a cold, catching a chill, being tired, having poor sleep, or being stimulated by tobacco or alcohol. Patients will experience sore throats and discomfort and a feeling of blockage in the throat. Symptoms are usually not obvious, but there is often a history of acute attacks.

2. Dry throat and bad breath may also occur. This is mainly due to the growth of bacteria in the tonsils and the purulent embolism remaining in the tonsils, which can often cause bad breath, dry throat, itching, and a foreign body sensation.

3. Sometimes the tonsils are swollen. This phenomenon often occurs in children. Enlarged tonsils can cause difficulty in swallowing, slurred speech, shortness of breath or snoring during sleep. If the tonsils are too enlarged, breathing, swallowing or speech resonance problems may occur.

4. Sometimes it is accompanied by symptoms such as indigestion, headache, fatigue, and low fever.

Several dangers of tonsillitis

1. Excessive enlargement of tonsils or peritonsillar abscess can sometimes affect respiratory function.

2. If acute tonsillitis is not treated in time, it may cause diseases of adjacent organs, such as rhinitis, sinusitis, inflammatory enlargement of cervical lymph nodes, pharyngitis, laryngitis, Eustachianitis, simple otitis media, hearing loss, etc.

3. Repeated attacks of chronic tonsillitis can cause rheumatism, myocarditis, nephritis and other diseases.

4. If tonsillitis is not treated in time and the body's resistance is not enough to defeat the pathogen, the inflammation can spread to the surrounding tissues and spread to other organs through the blood, causing inflammation, such as secondary rheumatic fever, rheumatic arthritis, rheumatic heart disease, acute nephritis and low fever without obvious cause.

What to do if tonsillitis occurs in summer

Acute tonsillitis is relatively easy to treat due to its rapid onset. The most commonly used treatment method is medication. Patients can take levofloxacin, amoxicillin, etc. orally. In addition, anti-infection treatment mainly selects effective antibiotics targeting pathogens. Penicillin is effective against more common streptococcal infections and can be used as the drug of choice. However, in recent years many bacteria have mutated and produced drug-resistant bacteria, and ordinary penicillin may not be effective. At this time, more powerful antibiotics must be used to control inflammation. Patients with severe symptoms require surgical treatment.

If your throat is swollen and sore, gargling with vinegar and the same amount of water can relieve the pain; fry the salt and grind it into powder, blow it into the throat and spit out the saliva to relieve inflammation and pain; mash the tender loofah and squeeze out the juice, gargle frequently to treat sore throat; when your throat hurts, gargle with 1 high-speed soup sauce, gargle for about 1 minute and spit it out, repeat 3 to 4 times, it is effective. When gargling, tilt your head back to make the gargle as close to the throat as possible, and gargle with breath for better results.

In addition, patients with pharyngitis should also pay attention to the following points: relax yourself as much as possible, drink yogurt regularly, which can provide a source of acidophilus for the body; reduce the intake of monosaccharides, as sugars will weaken the function of white blood cells in killing bacteria; drinking a lot of juicy drinks and eating more garlic are very effective in killing certain bacteria; only when you pay attention to it in normal times, and then use Ganzhilu Drink for conditioning.

We must be careful about tonsillitis when using air conditioning in the summer. In our daily life, we should drink more water, eat less irritating food, strengthen exercise, etc. to reduce the incidence of tonsillitis. For patients with tonsillitis, while taking medication, they should also relax and rest more to help relieve pain.
