If there are lumps on your eyes, they must be treated in time, otherwise your eyes will be injured again. It is best to find out the cause before treatment, otherwise it will cause great harm. It is especially important to get good treatment effects in the early stages to avoid worsening of your condition over time, or pain when blinking. External hordeolum At the beginning, the itching sensation gradually intensifies, the local eyelid edema and congestion occur, there is distending pain or pain when blinking, accompanied by tenderness, and a nodule can be felt near the eyelid margin. The pain is particularly significant in the lateral canthus, and the outer conjunctiva also becomes edematous. In severe cases, inflammation may Diffuse redness and swelling of the upper or lower eyelid. In mild cases, the disease may resolve on its own with or without treatment, or the nodules may gradually soften after 3 to 5 days. There will be yellow pus heads at the roots of the eyelashes. Once the pus breaks through the skin and is discharged, the redness and swelling will subside rapidly, and the pain will also disappear. In severe cases, there is often enlargement and tenderness of the preauricular or submandibular lymph nodes. In patients with highly virulent pathogens or weak systemic resistance, the inflammation may spread from one gland to other glands, forming multiple pus spots, which may develop into eyelid cellulitis, accompanied by systemic symptoms such as chills and fever. Internal hordeolum The eyelids are red, swollen and painful, mainly because the inflamed meibomian glands are surrounded by dense meibomian fibrous tissue. The redness and swelling are generally milder than that of external hordeolum, but the pain is more severe. Before the abscess breaks through, the corresponding conjunctival surface is congested, and yellow pus heads are often visible, which may break through on their own. In rare cases, pus can be discharged from the ducts of the meibomian glands, but it is more common for the pus to break through the barrier of the tarsal plate and conjunctiva and flow into the conjunctival sac. After the pus is discharged, the redness and swelling subside. If the pathogen is highly toxic, the inflammation will spread before the pus breaks out, invading the entire tarsal plate and forming an eyelid abscess. External hordeolum, commonly known as "stye" or "eyelid furuncle", is an acute suppurative inflammation of the sebaceous glands (Zeis glands) at the roots of the eyelash follicles and the eyelid glands (Moll glands). Internal hordeolum inflammation is an acute suppurative inflammation of the Meibomian glands or secondary infection of chalazion. The pathogens are mostly staphylococci, which enter the glands through the opening of the eyelid margin and cause inflammation. |
