The second to last tooth is rotten

The second to last tooth is rotten

I believe that many people in life often have cavities in their teeth and have many questions about fillings. It is these questions that prevent people from going to the dentist and getting their teeth checked, which eventually leads to the teeth falling out piece by piece due to ulceration and decay, so they go to the hospital to check their teeth. In fact, after the teeth fall out, if there is no inflammation, restorative surgery can be performed. The specific details still require further diagnosis to understand.

Nowadays, many people have holes in their teeth and there are many problems with fillings. Filling is a method of repairing tooth defects with artificial materials. Before filling, the dentist will conduct a comprehensive examination of the patient's oral cavity, have a comprehensive understanding of the patient's oral health status and deal with it appropriately, and formulate the best filling and repair plan based on the number of caries, treatment site, and degree of caries in the patient.

Filling is currently the best way to treat tooth decay, but many misconceptions discourage people from getting fillings, and they fail to receive early treatment, leading to more serious consequences.

1. Structural characteristics of dental caries: The dental tubules are arranged in a radial fan shape, with a small mouth and a large bottom, just like a crater. We may see only a small black spot on our teeth, but in fact, cavities are often much larger than what we see with the naked eye. When the doctor removes the decay inside the tooth, the cavity appears to be larger.

2. Location of caries: Interproximal caries starts from the gaps between teeth. It is relatively hidden in the early stages and sometimes cannot be seen until it is discovered through X-ray examination. At this time, the tooth cavity preparation needs to open the hole from the occlusal surface of the tooth to fully expose the caries cavity and form a treatment pathway.

3. Remove the hanging tooth tissue and residual tooth wall. The tooth tissue above the decayed tooth and the weak tooth wall. The tooth tip can easily break after filling, so the hidden dangers must be removed before filling. The prepared tooth cavity will naturally become larger.

4. When filling a tooth, it is necessary to fully isolate it from moisture to prevent the filling from being loose. Some patients suffer from severe gingivitis, and the bleeding gums cannot be completely stopped when filling a tooth. Or some children cry and refuse to cooperate during treatment, and the teeth being treated cannot be isolated from moisture. At this time, the bonding and retention of the filling and the tooth will be affected and it will easily fall off. Bacteria attached to the exposed tooth holes can cause new cavities and make the holes larger.

What kind of harm will happen if you don’t fill your teeth in time?

1. If caries is not treated in time, the lesions will become larger and larger, developing from shallow caries to deep caries, and the patients will be sensitive to food stimuli such as hot, sour, and sweet. When the damage reaches the pulp, it will cause pulpitis, and the toothache will be very severe. When the lesions develop further, it will cause apical periodontitis, periapical abscess, and even mandibular osteomyelitis and tooth loss.

2. Tooth decay or even loss will affect chewing, increase the burden on the gastrointestinal tract, and thus affect physical health. Moreover, there are a large number of bacteria and pus in caries. These potential lesions can cause sepsis or bacteremia when the body's resistance is reduced. Dental fillings can stop the occurrence and development of these diseases, so if you suffer from caries, you should have your teeth filled as soon as possible.

3. If shallow and moderate caries are not treated in time and develop into deep caries, the treatment will be relatively complicated.
