Dry red wine is a drink that everyone likes very much. Wine originated in Europe and the United States and is loved by many people. The preservation of dry red wine is very demanding. If you drink expired dry red wine, you may suffer from diarrhea. So, how many days is its shelf life generally?

1. Some people say that the shelf life of wine is generally 3 or 5 years, and many imported wines are marked with a 10-year shelf life. This is because previous laws stipulated that the shelf life must be indicated on the label, so in order to cater to the characteristics of my country and taking into account the purchasing habits of Chinese consumers, it is marked in this way.

2. The real "shelf life" of wine is what we call a life curve. It is neither parabolic nor normally distributed, but similar to the growth curve of microorganisms. It has a rapid development period, then enters a peak period, and finally goes into a downward aging period. When wine enters its mature stage, it can last for several years or even decades, but the wine body will become increasingly fragile. Therefore, it has higher requirements for the storage environment. If it is not stored properly, it will accelerate aging. Wine tastes best and is most expensive when it is in its mature stage. If the wine is past its maturity period, its quality will gradually decline until it becomes worthless.

3. Generally speaking, if specific preservation technology is not used, the wine will change immediately at room temperature after opening the bottle. Usually wine will completely deteriorate in about 3 days (2 days for white wine).

Some wines often become smoother after a day or so, but young, fruity wines are best when they are just opened. On the second day, wines that were recorked the night before will be much better, but most of the fruit aromas will begin to fade and the acidity will become more prominent. On the third day, some wines will completely deteriorate, the aroma of the wine will completely disappear, and the taste will become very sour.
