Why is my body hotter than others

Why is my body hotter than others

Heat is not a good experience for many people, especially in the summer. This is due to weather conditions, but some people may feel weaker than others. Many times, we think that we are just too angry, which is one of the reasons, but apart from this situation, many times it is caused by our mood or other physical illnesses. So if you find that you are hotter than others, what should you do to solve the problem?

However, when facing the same high temperature weather, different people react differently. Some sweat profusely and are irritable, while others are refreshed and calm. What causes such differences? In addition to personal physique, the most important reason is the psychological state.

So if you are susceptible to the effects of high temperatures, please remember the old saying: "A calm mind is a cool mind."

There is scientific basis for the saying that if you calm down you will feel cooler.

First, emotional state affects heat production. When the mind is calm, the excitability of the sympathetic nerves decreases, and the secretion of adrenaline and norepinephrine also decreases. As the metabolism slows down, the person's heart rate slows down, and the heat generated in the body decreases. So sometimes we see that there is basically no air conditioning in Buddhist temples, but the monks in the temples can still sit in meditation without changing their expressions; and even in winter, people who are angry and swearing in the streets can still have red faces and sweat profusely. Some scientists have also measured people's body temperature under various emotional states and found that except for the state of calmness when the body temperature does not change, the body temperature drops rapidly when there is despair, and the body temperature rises to varying degrees when other emotions are activated. So maintaining a calm mood is most helpful in managing our body heat.

Secondly, emotional state affects the efficiency of heat dissipation. There are four ways for humans to dissipate heat: body surface heat radiation, heat evaporation, conduction heat dissipation and convection heat dissipation. Thermal radiation refers to the body's heat dissipation by transferring heat to colder objects outside. Sweating is a way to dissipate heat by evaporation, taking a cold shower is a form of conduction heat dissipation, and when we use fans and air conditioners, we dissipate heat through convection between high-temperature and low-temperature objects. Among these four heat dissipation methods, except convection heat dissipation, the other three will be affected by the skin surface temperature. When a person is in an impatient mood, the brain becomes excited and causes blood vessels to constrict, reducing blood flow on the skin surface and lowering skin temperature, which makes it difficult for heat to dissipate.

In addition, emotional state affects our subjective perception of temperature. Emotional state will affect our perception of external things. When our emotions are fluctuating and we are irritable, we tend to magnify negative external stimuli. For example, people who we usually dislike will become even more intolerable at this time, and the already hot weather will feel unbearable.

So what are some ways to help us calm down?

1. Sit quietly and meditate. The simplest meditation can begin with deep breathing and imagining relaxing scenes. Meditation can help you calm down, notice your emotional changes, and improve your ability to be aware of your emotions.

2. Adjust negative cognition. In many cases, our pain and entanglement come from our view of things. Adjusting our view of things can greatly alleviate unstable emotions.

3. Find reasonable ways to vent your emotions. People always have bad moods sometimes. When faced with negative emotions, it is important to accept and channel them. You can look back on your past experiences to find methods that you have used to cope with your emotions.

4. Seek help from a psychological counselor. Simple emotional problems can be alleviated by yourself, but serious emotional problems will have a great impact on your life. At this time, seeking the help of a psychologist is the most effective solution.
