Which one is stronger, hypochlorous acid or carbonic acid

Hypochlorous acid is also a relatively common acid. It is a strong oxidant that can kill germs in fruits. Although it is often used as a water disinfectant, it is also often used to fade dyes and organic substances. For example, it can be used as a bleaching agent, a deodorant, etc. It can be used as a disinfectant product in swimming pools. When storing hypochlorous acid, be sure to keep it away from fire and ensure ventilation.

Which one is stronger, hypochlorous acid or carbonic acid?

According to the ionization equilibrium constant, acidity: H2CO3>HClO>HCO3-. The strength of its acidity can also be proved through experiments.

CO2+H2O+Ca(ClO)2=CaCO3↓+2HClO Acidity: H2CO3>HClOHClO +Na2CO3 =NaClO +NaHCO3 Acidity: HClO >HCO3-

Basic uses of hypochlorous acid

Hypochlorous acid is a strong oxidant that can kill bacteria in water, so chlorine is often used in tap water.

(About 0.002g of chlorine is introduced into 1L of water) to sterilize and disinfect. Hypochlorous acid can fade dyes and organic colors and is generally used as a bleaching agent, oxidant, deodorant and disinfectant. In biology, hypochlorous acid is used by neutrophils to kill bacteria. It is widely used in chlorine disinfectant products for swimming pools.

Precautions

Operate in a closed environment and enhance ventilation. Operators must undergo special training and strictly abide by operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear hood-type electric air-supply filtering dust respirators, rubber anti-toxic clothing, and neoprene gloves. Stay away from fire and heat sources, and smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Keep away from flammable and combustible materials. Avoid generating dust. Avoid contact with reducing agents and acids. Be careful when loading and unloading to prevent damage to the packaging and containers. Vibration, impact and friction are prohibited. Equipped with appropriate types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may contain hazardous residues.

Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The warehouse temperature shall not exceed 30℃ and the relative humidity shall not exceed 80%. The packaging must be sealed and not come into contact with air. It should be stored separately from reducing agents, acids, flammable materials, etc. and should not be mixed. It is not suitable for large-scale storage or long-term storage. The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to contain leaks.
