How to wash down jackets cleanly and easily

In the cold winter, down jackets are a type of clothing that we all choose. Down jackets have good warmth retention effects, are very light and very comfortable to wear. Method 1: Clean with toothpaste.

Method 2: Use alkali powder or laundry detergent.

Method 3: Wash with soap.

Cut the soap into pieces, soak it in boiling water, and use the soap liquid to scrub directly.

Method 4: Whole piece cleaning method

When washing, soak the down jacket in warm water at about 30°C. This will soak out the stains and wash it more cleanly. It is best to put the down jacket in the bathtub and use a neutral detergent to ensure that the light-colored down jacket will not turn yellow or discolor. Squeeze out the air inside while washing, and don't let the down jacket bulge in the water. Use a soft-bristled brush to brush the dirty parts, and avoid rubbing them hard, so that the down inside will always be warm and will not get tangled.

Precautions for washing down jackets

Avoid dry cleaning.

Because tetrachloroethylene solution will destroy the protein in down and affect its thermal insulation performance.

Avoid alkaline detergents.

The poultry down in down jackets is protein fiber. If you use soap and ordinary laundry detergent for washing (do not use enzyme laundry detergent), their pH value is around 11, which is highly alkaline and can easily destroy the fat protective film on the fiber surface and penetrate into the fiber, causing the down to lose its original softness, elasticity and luster, becoming dry, hard, brittle, and aged, shortening the service life of the down jacket.

It is best to use a special down jacket detergent when cleaning down jackets. It is neutral, can reduce the damage to protein fibers, and has excellent cleaning power and protective conditioning effects. After washing, it can maintain the gloss of the down jacket fabric and the fluffiness of the inside.

Avoid ironing or drying.

High temperatures can age fabrics and reduce the life of your garments.
