The stool is not formed and cannot be passed cleanly

In our lives, many people are prone to unformed stools when defecating. Many people think that the so-called unformed stools are diarrhea. In fact, there is another type of unformed stools in which the patient will feel particularly uncomfortable in the anus when defecating, and will find that it cannot be wiped clean when wiping the buttocks with paper. This phenomenon is generally caused by excessive moisture in the stomach. So what should we do if the stools are unformed and cannot be defecate cleanly?

Abnormal colors are associated with disease

Grayish white: If the color of the stool is "white clay-like", it may be jaundice or bile duct obstruction caused by stones, tumors, ascaris, etc., which prevents bilirubin from being excreted with the stool.

Black: If you have not eaten pig blood and have not taken any medications that may cause black stools, black stools usually indicate upper gastrointestinal bleeding. When the stomach and duodenum bleed, the blood passes through several meters of intestine and undergoes various chemical changes, gradually turning black. Therefore, if there is bleeding in these places and the amount is not large, the stool should be black.

Red: Bloody stools are mostly caused by bleeding in the lower gastrointestinal tract. The lower gastrointestinal tract includes the jejunum, ileum, rectum, and colon. Due to the short "distance" and less chemical changes, when these parts bleed, the stool should be red. If the amount of upper gastrointestinal bleeding is heavy, the blood will not have time to stay in the intestines for too long, and the stool will also be red. But whether it is upper gastrointestinal bleeding or lower gastrointestinal bleeding, there is one characteristic, the blood and stool are mixed together. If the blood is not mixed with the stool, but is only attached to the surface of the stool or partially deviated, or even dripping blood after defecation, this is hemorrhoids.

Changes in bowel habits can also indicate disease

Sometimes the stool is not necessarily cylindrical. This is because a section of the colon in the large intestine has wrinkles, and the stool will be slightly deformed when passing through these places. This is normal. However, if the stool is always fixed in a certain place with a depression, it may be that there is a tumor in the intestinal cavity.

Medically speaking, if you have bowel movements more than four times a week, it is not considered constipation; if you have bowel movements no more than three times a day, it is not considered diarrhea; and if a bowel movement lasts no more than 10 minutes, it is not considered abnormal. The time interval, frequency and duration of each bowel movement may vary from person to person and are closely related to personal diet and lifestyle habits. The elderly have poor intestinal motility, so the time and intervals between bowel movements will be longer.

Abnormalities in the nature and frequency of bowel movements are sometimes caused by an organic disease, that is, there is a problem with a part of an organ, and sometimes it is a functional problem. Even if you go to the hospital for a check-up and cannot find any disease, it must be a functional abnormality, and you may have irritable bowel syndrome. There is no need to worry if no problem is found. Some people have alternating diarrhea and constipation, which may be due to colon cancer.
