Cardiac imaging is dangerous

Cardiac imaging is dangerous

Cardiac angiography is harmful to the body. First of all, cardiac angiography uses X-rays to flow through blood vessels to present the heart's activities in dynamic graphics. Therefore, unless your heart disease is particularly obvious, medicine will not adopt this method. For patients with heart disease, it is best to drink more boiled water and develop good living habits. No matter what happens, they should relax and be happy.

Cardiac angiography is to insert a very thin catheter into your aorta, and then inject contrast agent into the aortic blood through the small hole in the front of the catheter. The X-ray can display the contrast agent flowing along the blood vessels on the display screen to show the shape of the blood vessels and heart.

Cardiac angiography includes coronary angiography and heart (atria, ventricles) angiography. Coronary angiography uses a catheter as thin as a hair to extend along the artificial entrance of the radial artery (wrist) or femoral artery (thigh) to the opening of the coronary arteries of the heart, and then injects a contrast agent (which develops under X-rays) into the coronary arteries. In this way, the internal morphology of the coronary arteries can be displayed, for example, to see whether there is stenosis, plaques, etc. in the coronary arteries. However, this examination basically cannot be used to understand the morphology of the heart. It is mainly used to understand the internal morphology of the coronary arteries and the blood flow rate in the coronary arteries.

choose

When using large doses of contrast media for angiography, there are many factors that affect its

Toxic effects. During cardiovascular angiography, the risk of poisoning with rapid injection is several times greater than with slow injection, mainly due to the hyperosmotic effect of the contrast agent. Even newer preparations have some chemical toxicity. Under certain circumstances, tolerance of the myocardium, brain, spinal cord, or kidneys may be reduced. Regarding the choice of contrast agents, meglumine salts are best used for cerebral angiography, while sodium salts and meglumine salts are used in combination for cardiac angiography. Allergic reactions are less common with angiography than with urography, probably because the contrast agent does not pass directly into the lungs during angiography. Among the 167 cases of iodamide angiography, 6 cases had mild allergic reactions. Occasionally, skin hemorrhages may be seen in the area of the injected blood vessels; this may be due to embolism caused by contamination of cotton fibers or glove powder caused by contaminated saline used to flush the syringe or needle.

side effect

Orange tree expectorant can reduce the side effects of cardiac angiography

The Grantham Hospital in Hong Kong and the Department of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong have collaborated to use Orange Tree Expectorant, which is used to treat chronic airway disease, on heart patients who are preparing to receive radiocontrast agents. Research results show that the drug can reduce the incidence of kidney failure in patients by 60%. The Grantham Hospital conducted a clinical study involving 200 coronary cardiovascular patients. The 100 patients in the treatment group received 600 mg of orange tree expectorant orally one day before the angiography examination and once in the morning and evening on the day of the examination. As a result, only 4 people developed renal failure, while 12 people in the control group of 100 people who did not take Orange Tree Expectorant developed renal failure.
