One-year-old’s sleep time

One-year-old’s sleep time

For babies around one year old, they spend most of their time sleeping, and their bodies grow very fast when they sleep, so many mothers don’t know how many hours their babies should sleep, because many babies sleep more during the day and don’t sleep at night, so mothers can’t get enough rest. So how much sleep should a one-year-old baby have?

My baby is one year old. How much sleep time is suitable for him every day? Some mothers are worried that their babies sleep too long, 7 or 8 hours at a time. Is there any problem? In fact, mothers don’t need to worry. For babies around one year old, the normal sleep time is about 12-13 hours a day, which varies from person to person.

Generally speaking, a one-year-old baby will sleep 10-12 hours every night and another 1-2 hours during the day. Some children are very energetic and sleep 8 or 9 hours at night, and also sleep 3 or 4 hours during the day. Some children sleep more, maybe 10 hours or more a night, and another 3 or 4 hours during the day.

So how should the baby's sleep time be arranged? Generally speaking, a one-year-old baby sleeps 1-2 hours each in the morning and afternoon, and starts sleeping around 7-9 o'clock in the evening and sleeps until waking up the next morning, which is about 8-10 hours. Try not to let your baby sleep after 5pm and before 7pm, as this will cause the baby to wake up in the middle of the night and adults will not be able to rest well.

What to do if your baby doesn't like to sleep

(1) Too hot: Nowadays, most babies’ clothes and blankets are too warm. In fact, it doesn’t matter if the baby is a little cool. Being too hot will make him uncomfortable and prone to illness. If the room temperature is quite high and the baby is wearing a sleeping bag and covered with a small quilt, the baby's own heat dissipation ability is poor and he will feel hot and wake up. At this time, the problem can be solved by simply reducing the amount of penetration.

(2) Abdominal distension: This condition occurs in babies under 1 year old. If the baby eats too much before going to bed or does not burp after drinking milk, the baby will wake up due to bloating. Older babies may have eaten something difficult to digest within a few hours before bedtime. The problem can be solved by paying attention to massage, exhausting gas and adjusting diet.

(3) Wet diaper: A diaper that is too wet or too tight may make the baby uncomfortable. Some babies don't want to pee in their diapers easily when they want to pee, and they toss and turn restlessly.
