Water for washing contact lenses

Water for washing contact lenses

Nowadays, more and more people are suffering from myopia, but many people think that wearing glasses is not only unsightly but also inconvenient, so they choose to wear contact lenses. Contact lenses are in direct contact with the eyes, so hygiene must be ensured. When wearing contact lenses, you should not only clean your hands and tools, but also clean the contact lenses. If you want to wash your contact lenses, you must use special water. So, what kind of water is needed to wash contact lenses?

When we first purchase contact lenses, the liquid in the manufacturer's storage box or small bottle is saline. The big bottle is the care solution. After removing the lens, rinse it with the rinse solution (saline) and then store it or wear it.

The best cleaning method is to take out the contact lenses at night, clean them, soak them in saline or care solution, and then wear them again the next morning after cleaning them with saline.

Contact lens disinfection method:

There are two ways to disinfect contact lenses: thermal disinfection and chemical disinfection. The so-called thermal disinfection is to clean the contact lenses, put them in a box, and heat them with saline at 80-100°C for 20 minutes. However, heat disinfection can cause deformation and discoloration, as well as the elasticity of contact lenses, thereby shortening their lifespan, so be careful. Therefore, when disinfecting, you must never use any solution other than saline.

How to clean contact lenses

Materials: contact lens case, contact lens restorer, a pair of contact lenses, tweezers with rubber sleeves, care solution, paper towels

1. Wash your hands with clean water and dry them carefully.

2. Wash the contact lens case with soapy water, pour in boiling water to disinfect it, and wipe it dry. Pour half the volume of the contact lens case with the solution and set it aside.

3. Open the contact lens case, take out the contact lens with tweezers, and place it in the palm of your hand (make sure the tweezers are cleaned with care solution after each use. If you are not sure, rinse it with care solution before each use), drop an appropriate amount of care solution, and gently rub it radially with the fingertips of your right hand. Be careful not to let your nails touch the contact lens to prevent wear. Rub for about 20 seconds. When finished, turn the contact lens over and repeat the previous action.

4. After rubbing and cleaning, carefully observe under the light to see if there are any residual impurities and bubbles, and whether the contact lens has been worn. If there is no problem, put it into the contact lens restorer for temporary storage.

5. Put the two cleaned contact lenses into the contact lens restorer, pour in an appropriate amount of care solution, turn on the switch, and clean the "tear protein" that blocks the oxygen permeable holes of the contact lenses.

6. Take out the contact lens that has been thoroughly cleaned with tweezers, determine the front and back sides, place it on the tip of your index finger and wear it.

7. Clean the contact lens case and contact lens restorer. It is best to sterilize them with boiling water and wipe them dry. Put away all other things (including tweezers, a bottle of care solution, paper towels, frame glasses, etc.).
