To sum up, a reasonable conclusion can be drawn that the emergence of male homosexuality is almost certainly directly influenced by genes, although it may not be strictly controlled by one or more alleles. The same is true for lesbian traits, except that the genetic mechanisms and related genes involved are different from those of male homosexuality.
