Nail changes indicate ten diseases

Dr. Fox, a spokesman for the American Academy of Dermatology, once admitted that dangerous warning signs of diseases such as hepatitis, fungal infections, lupus, heart disease, and anemia may appear on the nails. For example, lupus patients will have angular blood vessels in the nail folds; 10% of psoriasis starts from the nails and causes cracks and depressions in the nail bed; obsessive-compulsive neurosis manifests as long-term nail biting or nail picking; even common disorders, such as thyroid disease, can cause abnormal nail beds, making them dry, fragile, and easy to crack.

◆ 2. Yellow, thick, slow-growing nails - lung disease, such as emphysema

◆ 3. Yellow nails with red roots - Diabetes

◆ 4. Half white and half pink nails - kidney disease

◆ 5. Red nail bed - heart disease

◆ 6. Pale or white nail bed - anemia

◆ 7. Nail surface depression or wrinkles - psoriasis or arthritis

◆ 8. "Clubbing" or inverted nails - lung disease

◆ 9. Irregular red lines at the base of the nail wrinkles - lupus or related tissue diseases

◆ 10. Black lines under the nails - malignant skin tumor
