Tips for healthy living in summer

The weather is hot in the summer, which is a test for some people, especially the weak and sickly people, and the same is true for the elderly. Therefore, it is very important to learn some common sense of healthy living in the summer. This is very beneficial for preventing diseases and for smoothly getting through the hot season. Let’s take a look at some tips for healthy living in summer.

1. Three factors to consider when buying a cool mat

When it is hot in summer, people often use cool mats. There are roughly three types of mats sold on the market: bamboo mats, straw mats, and patterned mats. The purchasing methods for these three categories of mats (including mats) can be summarized in three words, namely the three elements, namely, look, touch and weigh.

One look: that is, look at the color of the mat. The bamboo mat should be slightly green, arranged neatly, and have clear stripes. If the mat is too yellow, the price will be a level lower. The middle part of the new straw mat should also be slightly green, and pay attention to whether the weave of the mat is tight.

Second touch: Use water to stroke the mat back and forth, and it is better to have no obvious touch feeling.

Three weighing: weigh the weight of the mat. If you have two mats, the one that feels heavier is better.

In addition, newly bought mats must not be scalded or soaked in boiling water, but only wiped with warm water. Do not use plastic bags to store mats to avoid the generation of moisture, which may cause mold and insect infestation. At the same time, the mat cannot be pressed heavily or folded.

2. Salt tea to prevent heat stroke

Take 3 grams of tea leaves and 1 gram of salt, put them in a cup, brew with boiling water and drink. Salt tea has the effects of improving eyesight, reducing inflammation, reducing fire and resolving phlegm; drinking it regularly in summer can effectively prevent heatstroke; it can also cure colds, coughs, toothaches, red and swollen eyes, and other symptoms.

3. Seven ways to repel mosquitoes

1. Use perfume to repel mosquitoes: Sprinkle some perfume on the bed sheets and mosquitoes will not dare to fly near.

2. Repel mosquitoes with cigarette butts: Collect cigarette butts, peel off the outer paper to get the tobacco, and throw them into toilets, sewers and other places where mosquitoes are likely to breed to deodorize and repel mosquitoes.

3. Use cool oil to repel mosquitoes: Place a few boxes of opened cool oil in the bedroom to prevent mosquitoes from flying into the room.

4. Use onions and garlic to repel mosquitoes: Put some chopped onions and garlic in places where mosquitoes often appear, and mosquitoes will not dare to come.

5. Eucalyptus oil repel mosquitoes: Apply eucalyptus oil on exposed skin to effectively prevent mosquito bites. One application of eucalyptus oil can last for 2 to 3 hours.

6. Empty bottle mosquito trap method: Take an empty bottle, fill it with 3 to 5 ml of sugar water or beer, and place it in a place with many mosquitoes indoors. When the mosquitoes smell the sweetness or beer, they will fly into the bottle and find it difficult to get out. Once they touch the sugar water or beer, they will be immediately stuck.

7. Use wind oil water to repel mosquitoes: Pour an appropriate amount of wind oil into a basin, add an appropriate amount of water, the wind oil floats on the water surface, and place the basin of wind oil water indoors to prevent mosquitoes from flying into the room.
