There is a whistling sound in the lungs and blood in the sputum

We all know that newborn babies are particularly susceptible to lung infections, which can cause the child to cough and have phlegm all the time. Moreover, the child is young and will not cough and spit out phlegm, which can cause wheezing in the throat. Over time, the phlegm spit out with the help of the mother may contain some blood. So what should I do if there is wheezing in the lungs and blood in the phlegm?

In the neonatal period, scattered moist rales can be heard in the lungs. After about half an hour, the moist rales are gradually absorbed, which is normal. However, in infants and young children, if moist rales occur, pneumonia may be considered. If dry sounds, sputum sounds and wheezing sounds are present, acute wheezing bronchitis may be diagnosed. Sometimes, clinically, only coarsened breath sounds are heard in the lungs, but pneumonia may also be found on the chest X-ray. This depends on the medical history.

Wheezing is a dry, rhonchy sound caused by airflow through narrowed airways and is common in airway obstruction or asthma. Moist rales are bubbly crackling sounds caused by airflow through accumulated sputum secretions and are common in patients with excessive sputum secretion.

The respiratory function of the lungs continuously inhales fresh air and expels turbid air, expelling the old and taking in the new, thereby achieving gas exchange between the body and the external environment to maintain human life activities.

The lungs are responsible for dispersing, which means that the lung qi has the function of dispersing upward and spreading to the periphery; the lungs are responsible for descending, which means that the lung qi has the function of clearing and descending inward and downward. The lung's function of dispersing and descending is achieved by the ascending and descending movement of lung qi, hence the names "dispersing of lung qi" and "descending of lung qi".

The function of the lung qi to spread outward and distribute qi and body fluid upward is mainly manifested in the following three aspects: first, it exhales the turbid qi in the body; second, it transports the body fluid and part of the essence of water and grain transferred by the spleen to the orifices of the head and face, and then to the skin, fur, and muscles of the whole body; third, it spreads the defensive qi to the skin, fur, and muscles to warm the flesh, fill the skin, nourish the pores, control opening and closing, transform the metabolized body fluid into sweat, and control and regulate its excretion. For example, "Lingshu Jueqi" says: "The upper burner opens up, spreads the flavors of the five grains, fumigates the skin, fills the body, and moisturizes the hair, like irrigation by fog and dew." "Lingshu Yanju" says: "The upper burner releases air to warm the flesh, nourish the bones and joints, and unclog the pores." If the lungs fail to expand due to exogenous wind and cold, it will cause breathing difficulties, chest tightness, wheezing and coughing; the Wei Qi is suppressed and the pores are blocked, which may cause chills and no sweating; the body fluids are retained in the body and turn into phlegm and fluid, blocking the airway, which will cause breathing difficulties, wheezing and coughing and inability to lie down.
