There are bloodshot lumps 5 days after tooth extraction

If there is a problem with our teeth, they need to be extracted immediately. But everyone knows that if a tooth is extracted, it will not grow again for adults. So in our daily life, we must take care of our teeth. Of course, when there is a problem with the teeth, the teeth still need to be extracted. So, why are there bloody lumps 5 days after tooth extraction?

The most common alveolar bone hyperplasia tissue does not require special treatment if it does not affect the closure of the gums. However, if it is higher than the gum surface and affects wound healing, you need to visit the dental department to trim it. Do not stimulate this area after tooth extraction. It will generally recover gradually in about 4 weeks.

Tooth extraction is the most commonly performed surgery in dentistry. Since tooth extraction is performed in the presence of saliva and a large number of microorganisms, just like surgical operations, post-extraction care should never be neglected.

As a patient who is having a tooth extracted, you should understand some correct care after the tooth extraction, which is conducive to good healing of the wound and can also prevent the occurrence of complications after the tooth extraction.

Precautions after tooth extraction

First of all, after tooth extraction, you should bite the gauze ball in the wound for about half an hour and then spit it out: After you have a tooth extracted, the doctor will place a gauze ball above the extraction socket for the patient to bite tightly to apply pressure to stop bleeding. Generally, patients without blood diseases can stop bleeding by biting a gauze ball for half an hour in a quiet state.

Do not lick the wound frequently with your tongue after tooth extraction: good blood clot is an important condition for normal healing of the tooth extraction wound and avoiding infection.

When the gauze ball is spit out, the bleeding in the alveolar socket has stopped and a blood clot has formed. However, if the blood clot is washed away by saliva or water, it will break up again, just like ice melting, eventually causing the blood clot to fall off and re-bleeding. Therefore, do not rinse your mouth or brush your teeth within 24 hours after tooth extraction, do not rinse your mouth vigorously when drinking water, and do not lick the wound frequently with your tongue.

If bleeding starts again after stopping the bleeding, you can bite the gauze ball again: Sometimes the bleeding has stopped after spitting out the gauze ball, but the alveolar socket may bleed again after exercise, talking, drinking water, etc. At this time, you can place the gauze ball above the extraction socket and bite it tightly to apply pressure to stop the bleeding, which usually works. If the bleeding cannot be stopped, go to the hospital immediately.

We would like to remind everyone that it is recommended to eat semi-liquid food on the day of tooth extraction, and eat easily digestible and softer food within two or three days after tooth extraction. At the same time, pay attention to the nutritional balance of diet and do not be picky eaters. In order to protect the blood clot in the extraction socket from falling off, try not to brush your teeth or rinse your mouth on the day of extraction. However, you can resume brushing and rinsing your mouth the day after the tooth extraction.

After a tooth extraction, everyone reacts differently, especially since postoperative reactions are temporary and generally do not cause serious discomfort. Everyone's situation is different and there is no comparability, so don't compare your feelings with other people's experiences. Treat postoperative reactions scientifically and calmly, and do not let them affect your normal life.
