Nasal congestion is a complication of many diseases and is also a disease that can have a great impact on the patient's physical and mental health. When nasal congestion occurs, in addition to treating the primary disease, you also need to take certain methods to regulate your body. For example, you can choose to soak your feet in hot water, massage the nose wings while lying on your side, apply hot compresses to the nose, rub the soles of your feet, or massage acupoints to relieve nasal congestion! 1. Methods for clearing nasal congestion Soak your feet in hot water: Nasal congestion is a common symptom in patients with upper respiratory tract infection and acute and chronic rhinitis. Soak your feet in hot water before going to bed for at least 20 minutes, until your body sweats slightly. 2. Lying on your side and massaging the wings of your nose If you have a blocked nose on the left side, lie on your right side; if you have a blocked nose on the right side, lie on your left side. Then clench your fists and use the dorsal surface of your thumbs to rub up and down both sides of the nose 36 times until the local area becomes slightly warm. 3. Hot compress on nose Applying a hot towel to your nose can temporarily relieve nasal congestion. In addition, pressing the Yingxiang point can promote blood circulation in the nose, thereby achieving the effect of clearing the nasal passages. 4. Rub your face with both hands First, rub your palms to warm them up, then rub along the sides of the nose to the top of the head, and then go down along the temples to the front of the ears. Repeat 36 times. 5. Press the center of your eyebrows and press your tongue against the roof of your mouth. First, press the center of your eyebrows. Then, press your tongue against the roof of your mouth. The reason for doing this is that congestion can be relieved through the movement of the vomer. 6. Press two acupoints First, use the tips of your index fingers to rub back and forth along the nose wings to the root of the nose 200 times, at a frequency of 90 to 100 times per minute. Then use the index fingers of both hands to massage the Yingxiang point or Bitong point on both sides 300 times, about 120 to 160 times per minute. Yingxiang point is located at the midpoint of the outer edge of the nose wing, about 1.5 to 2.0 cm outward, in the middle of the nasolabial groove. There should be a noticeable sore and swollen feeling when massaging this point. The Bitong point, also known as Shangyingxiang, is located at the upper end of the nasolabial groove on both sides of the nostrils. This method is safe, simple and effective. If you do it 1 to 2 times a day, it can also play a preventive and health-care role. 7. Rub the soles of your feet Rub your hands together to warm them up, then rub the Yongquan acupoints on the soles of both feet (the depression between the sole of the foot and the front third of the toes), back and forth several times until the soles of the feet are slightly warm. |
