Do fried Yuanxiao need to be thawed?

No need to thaw, but you must poke more small holes on the dumplings. When the oil is 30% hot, put the glutinous rice balls into the pot and fry them slowly over low heat until the glutinous rice balls float up and turn golden brown. Then take them out. The glutinous rice balls made in this way are not easy to "break" and are cooked quickly. You don’t need to thaw the frozen dumplings you bought, you can fry them directly.

First, put some oil in the pan, a little more oil. When it is slightly hot, put the glutinous rice balls in. Fry them slowly over low heat. When the surface of the glutinous rice balls turns golden brown, you can take them out. Before frying the glutinous rice balls, you can poke some small holes on them with a bamboo stick. This will prevent the quick-frozen glutinous rice balls from bursting and causing oil to splatter everywhere, and they will cook faster and save effort.

How to make fried Yuanxiao

Ingredients: a bag of quick-frozen glutinous rice balls, white sesame seeds, and cooking oil in appropriate amounts;

1. Place the frozen glutinous rice balls at room temperature to thaw naturally. If they are fresh glutinous rice balls, you can proceed directly to the next step.

2. After the glutinous rice balls are thawed, roll them in a layer of white sesame seeds. Then use a toothpick to poke 3 to 4 small holes in the rice balls. The depth of the holes should be just enough to reach the filling, about 1 cm. After poking the small holes in this way, the filling will not leak out and the dumplings will not burst when fried in the pan. This is one of the keys to the success of fried glutinous rice balls.

3. Pour enough oil into the pan and heat it on high heat. When the oil temperature reaches 30% to 40%, put the glutinous rice balls into the pan. Then use low heat to fry them slowly until golden brown. Remove from the pan, drain the oil and serve.
