A black spot was left after being stabbed by a pencil

Pencils are a type of tool pen that students commonly use. Children like to play, and if the pencil accidentally pierces the flesh, it often leaves a black spot. At this time, parents should not worry too much, because the main component of pencils is graphite which contains lead, so it will not cause any impact on health. Of course, if the black spots are more serious, you can go to the hospital for treatment.

A pencil pierced my body and left a black spot.

The main component of pencil lead is graphite, which does not contain lead and is harmless to the human body. Graphite is a scaly solid with a metallic luster. It is composed of carbon and has a very stable structure. Nothing in the human body can destroy it, so it is non-toxic. There is no need to worry about it.

The black spot left by a pencil prick can be erased with an eraser if the skin has not been broken. However, if the skin has been broken and the spot has entered the body, the human body will not be able to expel it. If you want to remove it, it is recommended to go to the hospital and use laser to remove it. If it is deep, you will need a small operation.

The harm of graphite dust to human body

Graphite is an allotrope of elemental carbon. Each carbon atom is connected to three other carbon atoms (arranged in a honeycomb-like pattern of multiple hexagons) by covalent bonds to form a covalent molecule. Because each carbon atom gives up an electron, those electrons are able to move freely, so graphite is an electrical conductor.

1. Mostly mild, progresses slowly, with dry throat in the early stage, cough, and sputum, which is black. Corresponding symptoms and signs may occur when there are complications.

2. Chest X-ray manifestations: In the early stage, irregular small shadows and reticular shadows can be seen in the middle and lower lung areas. Against the background of the reticular shadows, small round shadows of 1 to 2 mm can be seen with low density. Sometimes a slightly larger circular shadow can be seen. The lung markings are often increased. The density of the hilar shadow may increase, but a significant increase is rare. In a few cases, emphysema and perifocal emphysema may occur.

3. Pulmonary function test: There may be mainly obstructive ventilation dysfunction and emphysema.
