How to treat black spots on chicken comb

Chicken is a kind of poultry and also a common edible meat for us. If black spots appear on the comb of farmed chickens, this is a common infectious disease of poultry, also called fowl pox. In this case, the chickens can be given some disinfectants and can generally be cured. Of course, if the disease is more serious, large-scale deaths will occur, which will cause relatively large economic losses to the farmers.

How to treat black spots on chicken combs

1. Immediately vaccinate healthy chickens with 5 times the amount of fowl pox vaccine.

2. Disinfect the chickens every day.

3. Skin type chicken pox can be treated by applying iodine glycerin or gentian violet.

4. For mucosal type, carefully remove the pseudomembrane and then spray anti-inflammatory drugs.

5. Disinfect the eyes with hydrogen peroxide and then drip chloramphenicol eye drops.

6. For drug treatment of acne from Noanruite Animal Health, mix 100g of the drug with 150kg of water, twice a day, for 3-5 days, and double the amount of mixing.

Precautions

Every year before the disease season arrives, vaccinate with fowl pox vaccine in time.

Eliminate and reduce the damage caused by blood-sucking insects such as mosquitoes and flies, regularly remove weeds around the chicken coop, fill in sewers and sewage pools, and spray mosquito and fly killers frequently. Install screen curtains on the doors, windows, and ventilation vents of the chicken coop to prevent mosquitoes and flies from entering the chicken coop and reduce the spread of blood-sucking insects.

Improve the chicken breeding environment, try to reduce the chicken breeding density, ventilate the chicken house frequently, clean and disinfect frequently. After the chickens are out of the cage, the litter, feces and other debris in the house should be completely removed and disinfected, and the breeding utensils should be disinfected with boiling water. In high temperature and high humidity seasons, ventilation and moisture-proofing should be strengthened; strengthen the breeding of chickens, keep the daily diet nutritionally comprehensive, so as to enhance the disease resistance of the chickens.

The main onset age is from 70 days to around the time of delivery. The incidence is highest during this period and can be divided into:

(1) The lesion of dry type fowl pox is very large and white and raised. In the later stage, it grows rapidly and turns yellow, and finally turns brown-black. After 2 to 4 weeks, the blisters dry up and turn into scabs. Symptoms of this disease are most common on the comb, face, and wattles of chickens. But it can also appear in the legs, feet, and other parts of the body.

(2) Wet type chicken pox can cause breathing difficulties, runny nose, tears, facial swelling, and yellow-white ulcers in the mouth and tongue.

(III) In mixed fowl pox, the above two symptoms exist at the same time, and the mortality rate is relatively high.
