1. Causes of itching

It is related to climate, working environment, drugs, and diet; localized itching is related to local friction stimulation, bacteria, fungi and parasitic infections; systemic itching may be related to certain diseases such as diabetes, hepatobiliary diseases, uremia, etc.; senile itching is mostly caused by reduced sebaceous gland secretion and dry skin. Damp-heat downward movement type: Skin itching occurs below the waist and is mostly localized, most commonly around the scrotum, vulva, and anus. There is exudate after scratching. Women also have increased leucorrhea, bitter taste in the mouth, chest and flank fullness, short and dark urine, and constipation. The tongue is red, the tongue coating is yellow and greasy, and the pulse is slippery and rapid. Prescription: 15 grams each of raw rehmannia and Kochia scoparia seeds, 10 grams each of Plantago seeds, Alisma orientalis, Gardenia jasminoides, Scutellaria baicalensis, and Gentiana scabra, 6 grams each of Bupleurum, Akebia trifoliata, and raw licorice. Wind-heat and blood-heat type is more common in young people. The skin is extremely itchy, which is worse when exposed to heat. The skin will form strip-shaped blood scabs after being scratched, accompanied by dry mouth, irritability, constipation, and yellow urine. The tongue is red, the tongue coating is thin yellow, and the pulse is stringy and rapid. Prescription: 25 grams of raw gypsum, 12 grams each of raw rehmannia, white peony root, and sesame seed, 10 grams each of burdock, angelica, anemarrhena, sophora flavescens, schizonepeta, and saposhnikovia divaricata, 6 grams each of raw licorice, akebia, atractylodes, and cicada shells. For those who are upset, add 10 grams of Gardenia; for those who are constipated, add 10 grams of Rhubarb (to be taken later).

2. What to do if the itchiness on your body turns into ringworm after scratching

1. Be careful not to scratch itchy parts of the body, and wear loose and suitable underwear to reduce friction on the skin and provide good ventilation, which is conducive to the prevention and treatment of tinea corporis.

2. Actively treat your own tinea capitis, tinea manuum, tinea pedis or tinea unguium. Try to avoid close contact with other patients, including animals with ringworm, such as cats and dogs.

3. Patients with tinea corporis should keep the local area clean and dry. Patients should take a bath and change clothes frequently and pay attention to clothing disinfection.

4. Try to avoid the abuse of corticosteroids, immunosuppressants, etc., so as to prevent infection due to reduced body resistance.
