How to treat a sprained waist

How to treat a sprained waist

In life, many people may sprain their waist when doing physical labor because they don't pay attention. Some people may sprain their waist when they exercise too much because they don't do stretching exercises before doing sports. For these situations, patients should take some medicines for injuries in time and rest in bed. So how should you treat a sprained waist?

Teach you what to do after you slip your waist

Who are most likely to suffer from “slipped waist”?

"Lumbago" is a type of acute low back pain that often occurs in daily life. In pain science, it is called posterior ramus pain of the lumbar spinal nerve. Some people also call it "non-specific low back pain", "facet joint syndrome", "lumbar muscle strain", etc. It often occurs in the elderly, workers with high labor intensity, farmers, sedentary office workers, etc.

"Lumbago" can recur, with severe pain in the lumbar sacral region that can spread to the thigh (not above the knee). Lumbar spine X-rays often show no obvious abnormalities, and there are no clear surgical indications. This disease makes patients unable to move, seriously affects their daily lives, and brings them unspeakable pain.

What to do after a slipped waist?

Experts remind everyone that during the acute phase of pain attacks, patients should pay attention to bed rest and must not blindly correct themselves. They should cooperate with anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs and neurotrophic drugs for treatment. Physical therapy can also effectively improve lumbar stiffness, such as laser or ultra-laser, etc., which is especially suitable for the elderly, frail patients and patients who are allergic to drugs.

If the pain recurs frequently or lasts for a long time, nerve block therapy may be considered. Complete spinal nerve posterior branch block therapy is one of the more advanced treatment methods currently available. It can not only directly relieve pain, but also relax overly tense muscles in the waist and improve blood circulation. It is particularly suitable for pain caused by muscle tension and other reasons, and has irreplaceable rapid therapeutic effects. If the patient has very clear pain points, local injection of glucocorticoids can be considered for treatment, which directly acts on the lesions and has significant effects. If the patient has recurrent attacks and the pain is severe, radiofrequency thermocoagulation treatment is required. Radiofrequency needles are used to directly damage the nerves in the affected area without affecting the surrounding tissues or organs. This is very effective and recurrence is unlikely.

Massage

Those who have a slipped back should lie prone, and family members should use their palms to rub and press on both sides of the spine from top to bottom, and then massage down to the buttocks to the muscles under the thighs and behind the calves. After massaging several times, use the thumbs to massage and rub the most painful area several times.

Back-luck method

Ask the person with a sprained waist to stand with his or her family members back to back. Both parties should bend their elbows and hold each other. Then the family member should lower their head and bend over, carry the patient on their back and gently shake him or her left and right. At the same time, ask the patient to kick his or her feet upwards. After about 3 to 5 minutes, put the patient down and rest for a few minutes before doing it again. Generally, after reciting it a few times, the lower back pain will gradually improve. Then, recite it a few times a day until it is cured.

Hot compress

Wrap heated salt or sand in a cloth bag and apply hot compress to the sprained area for half an hour each time, once in the morning and once in the evening. Be careful not to burn the skin.

Topical application of drugs

Take fresh ginger, hollow out the inner layer, put the finely ground realgar into the ginger and cover it tightly, put it on a tile to dry, bake the ginger until it turns old yellow, let it cool, grind it into fine powder, sprinkle it on the injury and dampness plaster, apply it to the affected area, and remove the medicine when the pain stops.
