The dangers of taking a bath with hot water

The dangers of taking a bath with hot water

Bathing, like eating, is something that must be done in life, but some conditions do not allow it, so bathing also becomes a problem. The hot water heater is a way to boil water for bathing when conditions do not permit. I believe most people have used the hot water heater. Everyone knows that you just need to put it in cold water, plug it in, and after a while you will have hot water for bathing. But what are the dangers of using hot water for bathing for a long time?

"Hot-pot" is an electric heater commonly used in daily life. It can be used to boil water, heat milk, make coffee, etc. It is quick and convenient. There are two varieties: straight rod and curved rod.

composition

The "fast-heating" heating coil is usually made of a thinner metal tube with a heating wire inside. Then, insulating materials such as magnesium oxide powder are poured into the tube to package and fix the heating wire in the middle of the tube so that it does not contact the tube wall. [1]

principle

The two ends of the heating wire are respectively connected to the power line. When power is turned on, current flows through the heating wire, causing it to heat up. If the "hot pot" is immersed in liquid, the heat will quickly dissipate through the liquid, so that the liquid is heated quickly without burning the heating wire. If you allow the "hot pot" to burn dry in the air, the heat will not be easy to dissipate, and the metal outer tube will quickly burn or even burn red, and the heating wire inside the tube will burn out. Therefore, when using, you should first put the "hot pot" into the liquid. The liquid should at least submerge the heating coil (the handle and wire should not be immersed in the liquid), and then turn on the power. After heating is completed, you should also disconnect the power supply first. After a while, when the temperature of the "hot pot" drops, take it out of the liquid, wipe it dry and store it. [2]

The power of a hot water heater is generally around 1000-1500W, and it usually takes 5-6 minutes to boil a bottle of water.

Notice

hot

Of course, you can drink the water that is boiled quickly (same principle as electric kettle), but please note:

1. Make sure the water container and the hot water heater are clean and free of rust;

2. The water in the container must not be overheated, and it cannot be heated dry, otherwise it will burn easily;

3. After the water boils, do not take the heater out of the water immediately. Unplug the power plug and wait for the water to cool down before taking out the heat exchanger, because the heat exchanger is still very hot and may burn out easily.

4. Unplug the power plug as soon as the water boils. Boiling water for too long will cause the water to age and form harmful substances. Therefore, healthy water that meets human needs should be fresh. In addition, if water is left for too long after being boiled, it will become aged water, and the toxic substances in aged water will increase as the water is stored. Therefore, it is best to drink the boiled water on the same day;

5. Since the heating wire in the "hot pot" is a thin wire made of nickel-iron alloy, it is generally brittle and easily broken. Therefore, the "hot pot" should not be vibrated violently. If there is scale or attachment on the surface, it can be gently brushed off with a small brush. Do not knock it with hard objects or scrape it with a knife. Once the "hot-wire" is broken, it cannot be repaired and can only be replaced with a new one;

6. When the water is heating up quickly, people should stay away from it, because some people fill the water bottle with too much water when boiling water, so some water may splash out during the boiling process. The splashed water is mostly boiling water, so be careful not to let the water splash on you;

7. It is best not to use hot water heaters in the dormitory, because some hot water heaters have too much power and may cause unnecessary trouble. High-power electrical appliances are not allowed to be used in university dormitories.

Harm

The purpose of using a hot water heater is the same as using other methods to heat water. It sterilizes water by heating. Drinking sterilized water can prevent diseases, which is a good thing. However, in the heating process, water will also lose some trace elements and other nutrients, or long-term heating may lead to accumulation of heavy metals. The difference between hot water heaters, electric kettles, water heaters, water dispensers... these heating appliances may only lie in how much trace elements are lost, or whether some nutrients can be added during the heating process. In addition, there is the heating time. Generally, water heated to 80 degrees can achieve the purpose of sterilization. It is not suitable to heat it for a long time, otherwise it will cause the heavy metals in the water to concentrate and accumulate, which will cause harm to the human body. Therefore, as long as the method of using the hot pot is correct, it will not be harmful to the human body.

When the hot pot is placed in a thermos to heat, someone must supervise it. After 5-8 minutes, take the hot pot away and turn off the power. Otherwise the thermos may dry-burn and explode.
