What foods are incompatible with brown sugar

Brown sugar is a treasure for many female friends. It can relieve stomach pain after catching a cold, dysmenorrhea, stomach pain, etc. Some people who like to eat sweets will also drink a cup of brown sugar water when they are not feeling uncomfortable. However, some foods react with brown sugar water and cause symptoms that are harmful to health. For example, taking it with beef will cause indigestion and abdominal distension. Taking it with wine may cause diabetes in severe cases. It is really necessary to pay attention.

1. Brown sugar and soy milk are incompatible: the organic acid in brown sugar combines with the protein in soy milk to produce "denatured precipitate", which is not conducive to absorption. White sugar does not have this phenomenon and can be used together with soy milk.

2. Beef and brown sugar cannot be eaten together: eating them together will produce adverse biochemical reactions and cause abdominal bloating.

3. Brown sugar and bamboo shoots are incompatible: brown sugar is sweet and warm, while bamboo shoots are sweet and cold, and the medicinal properties of the foods are slightly contradictory. But the so-called mutual restraint mainly lies in the complex biochemical composition of the two. Bamboo shoot protein contains 16 to 18 kinds of amino acids. The lysine in them is easily formed into lysine glycoside when heated with sugar. This substance is harmful to human health.

4. Alcohol and sugar are incompatible: sugar tastes sweet, sweetness produces sourness, and sourness produces fire. This is especially true for maltose and brown sugar. Alcohol is sweet, spicy and very hot, so alcohol and sugar should not be mixed together. If they are taken together for a long time, it will generate heat and fire, which will be harmful to the body. Modern nutrition science believes that ethanol can affect sugar metabolism. This is because ethanol oxidation forms excess reduced coenzyme I, which inhibits the tricarboxylic acid cycle and causes blood sugar to rise. Drinking alcohol while eating sugar will affect the absorption of sugar and is also prone to diabetes.

5. Brown sugar and milk are incompatible: Brown sugar is a crude product that has not been purified and contains a lot of non-sugar substances and organic acids (such as oxalic acid and malic acid). The protein in milk tends to coagulate or precipitate when it encounters acids and alkalis. If brown sugar is added to milk, when the organic acid reaches a certain concentration, the protein will agglutinate and denature, and the nutritional value will be greatly reduced. Therefore, it is not advisable to add brown sugar to milk.

6. Sugar and tea are incompatible: Tea tastes bitter and cold in nature. It can stimulate the digestive glands, promote the secretion of digestive juices to enhance the digestive function, and has a certain effect of clearing away heat and detoxifying. If you add sugar to your tea, this function will be inhibited.

7. Sugar and copper-containing foods are incompatible: Copper is one of the important trace elements essential to the human body, and it is involved in the composition of various metal enzymes in the body. Copper deficiency in the human body can cause iron metabolism disorders, anemia, hypoxia, bone diseases, developmental delay, etc. Due to the increase in the ratio of zinc to copper, the normal metabolism of cholesterol is disturbed, leading to the occurrence of coronary heart disease. Copper deficiency can also cause oxidative metabolism disorders in myocardial cells, resulting in a variety of myocardial diseases. Eating too much sugar can reduce the nutritional value of copper-containing foods. Everyday foods that contain more copper include walnuts, shellfish, animal liver and bones, bean pods, raisins, etc. Therefore, when the human body is deficient in copper and needs to compensate for it with copper-containing foods, it is best to eat less sugar. Recently, American scientists have warned that fructose and sugar will hinder the body's absorption of copper. The daily copper intake is already insufficient, and the effect of sugar on copper intake and absorption makes people more seriously copper deficient. This phenomenon also exists in our country. Therefore, the China Food News also warned people: "Excessive sugar intake will hinder the body's absorption of copper."
