What causes a bulging belly

What causes a bulging belly

Fat is formed in every part of our body, which is the condition that makes us immune. However, too much fat is not only useless, but also has many disadvantages, so people choose to lose weight to achieve the goal of losing weight. For women, a bulging belly is very distressing. There is more fat on the belly, which makes people look fatter, so women will take targeted measures to reduce their belly fat. But what causes a bulging belly?

1. Abdominal fat accumulation

Many women gain weight around the waist first, forming the legendary "pear" or "apple" shaped body. Even many girls have slim limbs, but have several circles of fat hidden on their stomachs, and their waists are a few centimeters wider than ordinary people, thus becoming the "waistless" group.

If there are no other diseases causing fat to accumulate in the abdomen, the main reason is eating too much and exercising too little. Especially for office workers, who sit in the office for at least 6.5 hours a day, abdominal fat is only stored and not removed. Over time, the fat settles in the abdomen.

The dangers of abdominal obesity cannot be underestimated, as it is the most dangerous factor for hypertension, diabetes, and coronary heart disease. Women with abdominal obesity may also be targeted by a variety of diseases such as arthritis, breast cancer, and endometrial cancer. It can be said that the consequences are very serious!

Therefore, it is better to reduce belly fat as early as possible. The only truth for losing belly fat is: eat less and exercise more.

Reduce your food intake, but make sure you feel full, and then supplement it with vigorous exercise. For example, insist on running 2 to 3 times a week, and do targeted training such as sit-ups. I believe that in a few months, your belly will be flatter.

2. Influenced by genetics

Many physical characteristics can be attributed to genetics, and abdominal obesity is one of them. Look at your mother or other female elders to see if they have an apple or pear shape. If so, then there is a high possibility that you will become like them when you reach a certain age. To prevent this belly bulge, you'll also need to engage in plenty of physical activity and limit your calorie intake.

3. Changes in estrogen

As women age, their estrogen secretion decreases sharply and their metabolism slows down, which can lead to various physiological symptoms. In addition to poor skin, the abdominal muscles will become loose, the body will become bloated, and the waist, abdomen, buttocks, and legs will be full of excess fat.

In this case, we need to improve it through diet + health care.

Diet: Eat more foods that supplement estrogen. Like soybeans and various fresh fruits and vegetables, they are rich in nutrients, such as vitamin A, vitamin E, vitamin C, etc., which not only have anti-aging functions, but also help regulate estrogen imbalance.

Health care: Ensure 8 hours of good sleep every day, drink enough water, and do daily detoxification work. Secondly, proper exercise, such as walking for more than half an hour every day, can improve the secretion level of estrogen.

4. Polycystic ovary syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome is a common disease in women of childbearing age caused by complex endocrine and metabolic abnormalities. The main clinical manifestations are irregular menstrual cycles, infertility, hirsutism or acne. It is the most common female endocrine disease.

Generally speaking, symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome may cause symptoms of lower abdominal obesity. If polycystic ovary syndrome is not treated after a delay, it will bring many hazards, such as secondary infertility, premature aging, secondary malignant tumors, etc.

If you have the above symptoms, you must go to a regular national hospital for examination and treatment. And cooperate with the doctor's requirements and eat and live a reasonable life.

5. Caused by psychological pressure

There is a saying that goes, "It's hard to lose weight if you keep too many things in your heart." Although it sounds a bit sarcastic, it does make sense.

A 19-year research project led by the University College London Medical School found that people's work stress is directly proportional to their likelihood of obesity. The study involved 6,895 men and 3,413 women aged between 35 and 55 before and after. Participants submitted questionnaires about work stress three times at regular intervals.

The results showed that the more times participants said they were "too stressed" in the three surveys, the more likely they were to be obese. Compared with participants who never felt stressed, those who reported feeling "too stressed" once, twice, and three times were 17%, 24%, and 73% more likely to be obese, respectively. The research report was also published in the American Journal of Epidemiology.

If you have this type of abdominal obesity, you need to cooperate with your doctor for psychological counseling. Only by slowly getting out of your psychological difficulties can you stop losing your appetite and overeating, return to a normal physiological state, and lose weight successfully.

6. Too little sleep

Subcutaneous fat: the fat you can feel

Visceral fat: surrounds the internal organs and is mainly found in the abdominal cavity

Researchers at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina used CT scans to measure the subjects' abdominal fat content, including subcutaneous fat and visceral fat. The study found that for those who sleep an average of no more than 5 hours a night, the visceral fat content increases by 32%, for those who sleep between 6 and 7 hours, the fat increases by 13%, and for those who sleep no less than 8 hours, it increases by 22%.

Kristen G. Hales, the head of the study, pointed out that the human body needs some visceral fat to protect its internal organs, but if you have too much abdominal fat, you will be more susceptible to high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's disease and certain cancers.

Therefore, if you often get less than 5 hours of "extreme sleep", you should pay attention. The change measures mainly involve increasing sleep time, improving your sleeping environment and sleep quality.

7. Gastroptosis

People with gastroptosis have their stomach lowered to near the pelvis, so when they eat, not only the area around the heart but also below the belly button will bulge out. Sometimes they will also feel indigestion, nausea and vomiting. It is worth noting that gastroptosis often occurs in thin people, so if your lower abdomen is the only protruding part of your body, you should pay attention. Go to the hospital for a check-up.

8. Uterine fibroids

The most obvious feature of uterine fibroids is a hard bulge in the lower abdomen. In addition, there are symptoms such as abnormal menstruation, increased leucorrhea, back pain, lower abdominal distension, abdominal pain, and frequent urination. But most patients do not feel any discomfort. Female friends may press their lower abdomen. If it is abnormally bulging and hard, be careful of uterine fibroids.

Although uterine fibroids are benign tumors, they can also cause infertility, miscarriage, premature birth, and even deteriorate into cervical cancer, so it is important to detect them in time. If the symptoms are minor, they can be controlled by taking medicine, but if they are severe enough, they must be removed surgically.
