Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

I believe many people are not clear about what kind of disease COPD is and what different symptoms it will manifest. Therefore, it is recommended that everyone can learn more about relevant medical knowledge to help improve everyone's prevention of the disease. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a general term for chronic bronchitis and emphysema, which can cause patients to experience stomach discomfort and shortness of breath, and requires timely treatment.

COPD is a general term for chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Many patients have very hidden symptoms in the early stages of the disease, with almost no symptoms. By the time they feel unwell, the disease has already developed to the middle or late stages, which increases the difficulty of treatment. The high-risk group for COPD is long-term smokers, so pay more attention to your physical health, do regular lung examinations, and achieve early detection and early treatment.

COPD is a very serious disease. If the best time for treatment is missed, it will cause death. Symptoms before death include the following.

First, chronic cor pulmonale. COPD can cause lung lesions, worsen the condition, reduce pulmonary vascular flow, and cause hypoxia and spasms, which can easily lead to arterial hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy and enlargement, and ultimately cause heart failure and chronic cor pulmonale.

Second, chronic respiratory failure. When the disease occurs, the symptoms are significantly aggravated, including hypoxemia, difficulty breathing, and hypoxia, which eventually lead to respiratory failure and death.

Third, spontaneous pneumothorax. The patient suddenly experiences difficulty breathing, weakened breathing, or even absent breathing, and may develop spontaneous pneumothorax, which is also a relatively dangerous complication.

The above are the final signs of death from COPD, and the death process is quite painful. The early symptoms of COPD are not obvious and are easily ignored. Once symptoms occur, the patient is already in the middle or late stages, making treatment quite difficult. Therefore, we must learn more about this knowledge in life, pay great attention to it, and do a good job of prevention, such as smoking less, drinking less, and eating a light diet.
