What medicine is effective for weight loss

Some weight loss pills currently on the market contain appetite suppressants (orlistat). Although effective, it has been reported to cause acute kidney injury in patients who have experienced weight loss. Some also add laxatives to increase the body's excretion capacity and reduce the body's absorption of nutrients. This kind of weight loss drug is not advisable and has certain side effects on the body. Scientifically, people who want to lose weight mainly do so through physical exercise.

1. Causes of constitutional obesity: congenital. The metabolism of substances in the body is slow, and the rate of substance synthesis is greater than the rate of decomposition. Phenomenon: Fat cells are large and numerous and are distributed throughout the body.

2. Causes of acquired obesity: caused by overeating. The food contains a lot of sweets and greasy foods, and the fat is mostly distributed in the trunk. Phenomenon: The fat cells are larger, but their number does not increase.

3. Cause of Cushing's syndrome: hyperfunction of the adrenal cortex and excessive secretion of cortisol. Phenomenon: The face, neck and body are enlarged, but there is not much fat in the limbs.

4. Causes of pancreatic obesity: excessive secretion of insulin, reduced metabolic rate, reduced fat decomposition and increased synthesis. Phenomenon: obesity all over the body.

5. Causes of decreased sexual function: cerebral obesity, accompanied by loss of sexual function or decreased libido. Phenomenon: obesity around the breasts, lower abdomen, and genitals.

6. Pituitary causes: Pituitary lesions cause the anterior pituitary to secrete excessive growth hormone. Phenomenon: Hyperplasia and hypertrophy of bones, soft tissues, and visceral tissues throughout the body.

7. Hypothyroidism Cause: Hypothyroidism. Phenomenon: obesity and myxedema.

8. Drug-induced causes: caused by side effects of drugs, such as adrenal cortical hormones. Phenomenon: Obesity occurs after taking medication for a period of time, such as some patients with allergic diseases, rheumatoid disease, and asthma.

Obesity caused by mental health: The occurrence of obesity in patients with schizophrenia and mental health problems is multi-factorial. Eating habits and excessive food intake are important reasons. People with introverted personality, quiet preference, lack of exercise, and mental health or worse are more likely to become obese. It was found that 74% of obese patients increased their food intake when they were emotionally unstable, while non-obese people ate less when they had psychological disorders.
