How to judge hormone face

How to judge hormone face

Hormone face refers to the phenomenon of facial allergies caused by the long-term and uninterrupted use of various cosmetics by the human body. Usually, hormone face will be manifested as dry facial skin, itching, sometimes peeling and even acne. In simple terms, hormone face means that the use of a large amount of cosmetics and skin care products has a counterproductive effect, making the facial skin worse. So, how do we determine if we have a hormone-induced face?

1. What is hormone face

Hormone face is caused by long-term use of hormone-containing cosmetics or ointments. If they are suddenly stopped, the original skin lesions will worsen or new skin lesions will appear, accompanied by hormone-dependent symptoms such as dryness, desquamation, itching, redness, and stinging.

2. Criteria for judging hormone face

1. Have experience of intermittent or continuous use of hormone ointment, and the use time exceeds 2 weeks.

2. I have done whitening, freckle removal, skin rejuvenation, desensitization and other beauty treatments in beauty salons, and felt the results were particularly good.

3. Have experience in using external cosmetics for spot removal, whitening, acne removal, and desensitization, and feel that the effects are particularly good.

a. Mild hormone face:

I have had experiences like 1-3 above, but the skin damage is relatively mild, and I have not developed a clear dependence on hormones. There are no obvious changes in the appearance of my face due to hormones (such as bloodshot eyes, etc.). I just feel that my skin has become more sensitive than before, and I am prone to allergies when changing seasons or changing skin care brands. However, I can still use ordinary skin care products from regular brands.

b. Moderate to severe hormone face:

If you have had experience with 1-3 above, although you have stopped using the above products, the skin damage has already occurred. The skin has become very sensitive and you dare not use skin care products or can only use baby products. The skin has become thinner and has symptoms such as bloodshot, desquamation, redness, pigmentation, increased hair growth, and acne.

c. Extremely severe hormone face:

If you have had experiences as described in 1-3 above and have obvious signs of dependence or addiction, you should not stop using the above products. Once you stop using them, your face will soon develop "hormone rebound" symptoms such as redness, swelling, itching, and rash. Cannot use any normal skin care products, the skin becomes thinner, with symptoms such as bloodshot, scaling, redness, pigmentation, increased hair growth, and acne.

Note the distinction:

There must be a long history of hormone use and dependence has been formed. If these two elements are missing, it cannot be considered as hormone-dependent dermatitis. Many people suffer skin damage and sensitivity due to neglecting daily skin care and excessive exfoliation, and they mistakenly believe that it is caused by hormones.
