Wisdom teeth bite the cheek flesh and cause swelling

Wisdom teeth are teeth that grow relatively late in people's lives, but they have a great impact on people's health and can cause extremely serious oral diseases and other problems. Therefore, when wisdom teeth damage oral tissues, they must be treated in a timely manner to prevent various difficult symptoms from occurring. For example, what should you do if wisdom teeth bite into the cheek flesh and swelling occurs? Let’s take a look at the explanation below, I hope everyone can understand it.

Such wisdom teeth do not grow in the normal dentition and are tilted, which often wears out the oral mucosa and causes frequent ulcers! It is most likely that the inflammation of the gums is caused by inflammation of the wisdom teeth, which generally requires pericoronal flushing and medication.

Treatment requires first removing the wisdom tooth under local anesthesia, and then seeing whether the hyperplastic tissue decreases and disappears after removing the irritating factors. If there is no trend of reduction, treatment requires removing the hyperplastic tissue under local anesthesia. Generally, wisdom teeth tend to grow crooked, thus affecting the surrounding teeth and tissues, so doctors recommend extraction.

Go to the dental department for treatment. You can use mouthwash or rinse your mouth with light salt water. You can take some anti-inflammatory drugs appropriately. This will help subside the inflammation. After the inflammation subsides, it is best to remove the wisdom tooth to avoid recurrent inflammation.

Generally, those whose wisdom teeth are in a relatively correct position and are expected to erupt normally; those whose soft tissues around the crowns of the wisdom teeth have no history of inflammation and pain, and whose wisdom teeth have no caries; those whose teeth have opposing teeth and an occlusal relationship; and those whose blind pockets can be eliminated through gingival flap resection should consider retaining the wisdom teeth. On the contrary, those whose wisdom teeth are in abnormal position and form gaps with adjacent teeth; those whose wisdom teeth are in normal position but the crowns of the wisdom teeth are covered by bone tissue or gingival flaps, and those who often experience inflammation, swelling, and pain in the pericoronal soft tissue; those whose wisdom teeth are already decayed or have pulpitis and it is inconvenient to undergo endodontic treatment; and those who need orthodontics, such as preventing the posterior teeth from moving forward and preventing the front teeth from getting more crowded, can all consider extraction.

You should go to a regular hospital for an X-ray to see whether the wisdom tooth is in the correct position, or if the wisdom tooth has difficulty erupting, or if it affects the growth of other good teeth and causes swelling and pain. If the wisdom tooth is out at an angle, you may need to remove it; if it is out straight but has difficulty erupting, see if a small surgery can be performed to make an incision to help it erupt.
