Can sperm reproduce?

Can sperm reproduce?

Women only lay eggs once a month. In comparison, the number of sperms laid by men is really too much. Young and strong men may be able to ejaculate several times a day. In addition, men can produce new sperm every two or three days. Obviously, men's bodies have a strong ability to produce sperm, so men's sperm is renewable. The laying of eggs by any woman makes a huge difference.

Can sperm reproduce?

Of course sperm can reproduce. From a biological point of view, spermatogonia form primary spermatocytes, then form secondary spermatocytes, then form spermatids, and finally form sperm.

How long does it take for sperm and egg to combine?

The process of sperm and egg combining together is the fertilization process. The fertilization process takes about 24 hours. The fertilization process begins when a capacitated sperm enters the zona pellucida of the egg. When the chromosomes of the sperm and egg fuse together, the fertilization process is complete.

During intercourse, the man ejaculates semen into the woman's vagina. The sperm moves forward by swinging its tail and quickly swims to the cervical canal. Sperm releases protein-lytic enzymes that dissolve cervical mucus and move from the uterine cavity to the ampulla of the fallopian tube. At the final destination - the ampulla of the fallopian tube, it waits to combine with the egg. The fastest time for sperm to reach the fallopian tube from the vagina is only a few minutes, the latest is 4-6 hours, and usually 1-1.5 hours.

What conditions are required for sperm and egg to combine

1. Men's testicles can produce normal sperm.

The amount of semen ejaculated by a normal adult male at one time is 2-6 ml. The number of sperm in each ml of semen should be more than 60 million, more than 60% of the sperm are motile, and the abnormal sperm is less than 15%-20%. If the sperm does not meet the above standards, it will not be easy to make the woman pregnant.

2. Women's ovaries can release healthy and mature eggs.

For women with normal menstruation, a healthy and mature egg is released in each menstrual cycle, which gives them a chance of pregnancy. It is not easy for women with ovarian insufficiency or irregular menstruation to conceive.

3. Women should have normal sexual life before and after their ovulation period to give sperm and egg a chance to meet and fertilize.

Sperm can survive in a woman's vagina for 1-3 days, and the egg can survive for about 1 day after being released. A woman ovulates about 14 days before the next menstrual period, and conception is only possible within a few days before and after ovulation. You can't get pregnant during the non-ovulatory period.

4. The reproductive tract must be unobstructed.

The male's vas deferens must be unobstructed so that sperm can be discharged. The female reproductive tract must also be unobstructed so that the sperm entering the vagina can reach the fallopian tube unimpeded to meet the egg for fertilization. The fertilized egg can also enter the uterine cavity smoothly.

5. The intrauterine environment must be suitable for the implantation and development of the fertilized egg.

After the egg is fertilized, it moves toward the uterus while developing, reaching the uterine cavity after 3-4 days, and burying itself in the nutrient-rich endometrium after 6-8 days, and then continues to develop into a fetus. The development of the fertilized egg and the growth of the endometrium are carried out simultaneously. If the fertilized egg enters the uterine cavity earlier or later, the endometrium at this time will not be suitable for the fertilized egg to implant and continue to develop, and pregnancy will not be possible.
