Everyone knows that the meniscus is a kind of cartilage tissue, which is named because it takes the shape of a half moon. The meniscus is located on the bone joint. When we are moving, the meniscus has the function of protecting the joints. Therefore, when exercising in life, we must pay attention to the protection of the meniscus. Once the meniscus is damaged, it must be treated in time. After all, when the meniscus is damaged, it will affect the movement of the joints. Degeneration of the posterior horn of the meniscus is a manifestation of chronic meniscus injury, most of which is caused by knee sprain. Meniscus injuries are mostly caused by torsional forces. When one leg bears weight and the calf is fixed in a semi-flexed and abducted position, the body and thigh suddenly rotate inward, and the medial meniscus is subjected to rotational pressure between the femoral condyle and tibia, causing the meniscus to tear. Treatment of meniscus loss The treatment of meniscus injury is divided into acute phase treatment and chronic phase treatment. 1. In the acute stage, the accumulated blood can be drawn out and the leg can be bandaged with cotton for 2-3 weeks to reduce the inflammatory response. If the injury is edge-separated, its healing can be accelerated. Locking is clearly an indication for surgery, and arthroscopic surgery should be performed early. 2. If the symptoms in the chronic stage are not obvious, conservative treatment can be adopted. If the symptoms are obvious and there is locking, surgical treatment can be adopted. Currently, all knee meniscus surgeries are performed under a microscope. The treatment methods include complete meniscus resection, meniscus repair, meniscus suture, and meniscus transplantation. Prevention of meniscus injury 1. Be mentally prepared before exercise to warm up your joints and make them more responsive; 2. Do not exercise when you are tired, as this will make your reaction slow and your movements difficult to coordinate; 3. Strengthen the lower limb strength exercises to ensure the stability and flexibility of the knee joints; 4. During exercise, prevent accidental injuries caused by rough movements. Symptoms of meniscus injury 1. There is an obvious history of knee sprain; 2. During the acute phase, the joints are swollen and movement is limited; 3. Chronic patients have unstable knee joints or a feeling of slipping; 4. There is obvious tenderness in the joint space; 5. When interlocking occurs, it often cannot be unlocked automatically; 6. You can hear the sound of snapping; 7. Muscle atrophy may occur to varying degrees. |
