It is very common to get acne on the hands, especially in summer. Generally, there are many reasons for acne on the hands. It may be caused by eczema or allergies. It is best to go to a regular hospital for examination. Early treatment of acne on the hands is very important. Timely and regular treatment can not only reduce skin damage, but also relieve pain for patients. You must pay attention to personal hygiene habits at ordinary times. Causes of hand eczema Hand eczema is obviously an irritation problem, as the palms with their thick cuticles do not tolerate well with widely used cleansers. Of all the commonly used cleansing agents, soaps and detergents are the most harmful to the skin, even in diluted form. Other compounds that are harmful to the integrity of the skin include water, organic solvents (xylene), caustics, acids and alkalis. External moisture or sweating has long been considered the main hazard of hand dermatitis. Water can weaken the protective effect of the thickened stratum corneum, increase the penetration of many compounds, and make otherwise mild chemicals irritating. Housewives, nurses, barbers, dishwashers, cooks, doctors, dentists and other people who work in humid environments often suffer from this disease. Western medicine believes that general hereditary allergic constitution, ichthyosis or dry skin, frequent contact with various cleaning agents, minor trauma or chemical irritation on the skin, and even mental stress, depression, and pain can all aggravate the condition. People who work in related occupations, such as silk reelers, accountants, medicine bottle washers in pharmaceutical factories, mechanics, and others who perform manual operations and come into contact with chemicals or mechanical operators, are undoubtedly a high-risk group for hand eczema. In daily life, there are many factors that can induce eczema, such as sunlight, heat, and dryness in the living environment, fur and dandruff of various animals, and chemical substances we consume in daily life, such as cosmetics. All of these can cause hand eczema. In addition, common foods include fish, shrimp, etc., and inhaled substances include pollen, dust mites, wool, etc., which can all cause eczema. Symptoms of hand eczema 1. Hand eczema generally occurs on the palms and backs of hands, and can invade the wrists and fingers, often occurring symmetrically. 2. The palm skin lesions are localized light red and yellow-brown spots with thick and hard scales, which are prone to drying and cracking. The back of the hand is mostly covered with coin-shaped, infiltrated, hypertrophic dark red spots, or lichen-like patches covered with a small amount of scales. A small number of papules and blisters are seen on the fingers, the skin around the nails is swollen and red, and the nail plate becomes thickened and irregular. The patient feels that the affected skin itches to varying degrees. 3. Hand eczema mostly occurs on the back of the fingers and the palms of the fingertips, the back of the hands and the wrists. Local infiltration and hypertrophy may occur, and finger movements may cause chapped skin and swelling of the periungual skin, and irregular nail growth. 4. A few rashes may occur on the palm side. The edges of the rashes are not very clear, the local skin is rough, there are small papules and blisters, itching, and cracking occurs due to dryness in winter. Because hands are often in contact with external substances, hand eczema in people who do housework frequently is generally stubborn regardless of the cause. When hand eczema only occurs on the fingertips, it is also called fingertip eczema. When it occurs in the middle of the palm and the palm side of the fingers, the skin lesions are dry, the keratin proliferates, and the cracks are called chronic recurrent vesicular/keratin hyperplastic hand eczema. Skin lesions may also occur in the skin between the two adjacent fingers and the distal metacarpophalangeal joints of the palm. The lesions are apron-shaped and are also called apron-like eczema. Hand eczema caused by frequent contact of hands with animals and internal organs is also called slaughterhouse eczema. |
