What causes insomnia and night sweats?

In modern society, diseases are the most common situation in people's daily lives. Many factors in people's lives can cause the occurrence of diseases. Many people with high work pressure will suffer from insomnia and night sweats. Most patients with this situation do not know that this situation is caused by very different reasons. So, what causes insomnia and night sweats?

First, what causes insomnia and night sweats? Whether it is difficulty falling asleep (still can't fall asleep 30 minutes after going to bed), waking up easily during sleep, or waking up too early, and feeling tired, confused, headache, dizzy and other discomforts after getting up, and the symptoms last for a long time, even affecting studies and work, can be diagnosed as insomnia. At present, insomnia has gradually developed into an urban "epidemic". According to the data from the 2002 Global Sleep Survey in China, the number of people suffering from insomnia is as high as 42.7%. At present, insomnia has become the second most common disease in neurology outpatient clinics in China after headache.

Second, based on symptoms, insomnia can be divided into three types: difficulty falling asleep, inability to maintain deep sleep, and early awakening. If calculated by the duration of insomnia, it can be divided into transient insomnia (less than one week), short-term insomnia (one week to one month) and chronic insomnia (longer than one month). In addition, insomnia can be divided into physiological insomnia, psychological insomnia, pathological insomnia and drug-induced insomnia according to the cause. Physical illness (such as asthma, joint pain, sleep apnea), environmental factors (light, noise, room temperature) and jet lag can all trigger physical or physiological insomnia. Anxiety, academic and work setbacks, the death of loved ones, neurasthenia, depression, etc. are also the main causes of psychological and pathological insomnia. Certain drugs, such as the diet drug amphetamine, can cause central nervous system excitement and lead to insomnia. People who have taken sleeping pills for a long time will also experience withdrawal symptoms such as shallow sleep and more nightmares once they quit taking them. Some people even have too high expectations for sleep, thinking that as long as they sleep well they will be free from all diseases, but if they don't sleep well they will have health problems. This increases the pressure of sleep and is more likely to cause insomnia.

What causes insomnia and night sweats? In terms of drug treatment, using sleeping pills in small doses and for a short period of time is one of the important means; but sleeping pills with fewer side effects still have dependence or addiction, so you must strictly follow the guidance of medical staff when using them, and never try to use or abuse them on your own. Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, heart patients, and people with liver or kidney dysfunction should not take sleeping pills. In addition, you should not take sleeping pills after drinking alcohol, because both of them have the effect of suppressing the central nervous system. If the central nervous system is over-suppressed, it may be damaged. In addition to drug treatment, as the saying goes, the person who tied the bell must be the one to untie it. Heart illness always needs to be treated with heart medicine. If insomnia is caused by a physical problem (such as asthma, fever), as long as these problems are cured, the symptoms of insomnia will naturally disappear. If the main cause of insomnia is due to emotions, neurasthenia, depression, etc., it is necessary to seek help from an expert in this field (such as a psychologist) and provide appropriate psychological treatment to completely solve the underlying problem.
