What causes wear on the inside of shoes

Wear inside the shoe is mostly caused by knee varus or valgus. For some people, it is normal and the soles of their shoes wear evenly, so there is no need to worry about this situation. If the wear is severe, you need to pay attention to adjustment. Generally, walking will not be affected, but if you run or do other strenuous exercises, it will damage your knees in the long run. It is recommended that you first straighten your spine, chest and back; secondly, try to use the arch of your foot as the fulcrum when walking. The following are the reasons why the outer side of the heel wears.

Wear on the outside of the heel is generally caused by the following three situations: 1. Pathological reasons 2. Physiological reasons 3. Walking posture.

1. Pathological causes of wear on the outside of the heel

: If the outer side of the heel of a newly bought pair of shoes starts to wear out shortly after being worn, it may be related to knee joint disease. The more severe the wear on the outside of the heel, the higher the risk of developing knee osteoarthritis. This is because as people age, the inner side of the knee joint space becomes narrower and the weight-bearing surface gradually changes, gradually damaging the knee joint; and because the heavier the body weight, the greater the pressure on the joint, which increases the load on the joint. Therefore, when you suffer from osteoarthritis of the knee, the wear on the outside of the heel will definitely be very serious.

2. Physiological reasons for wear on the outside of the heel

Some people are born with legs of different lengths, which can cause different wear on the outside of the heel. The two legs also move differently when walking, which can also cause wear on the outside of the heel. A curvature of the spine can also cause wear on the outside of the heel.

3. Reasons for walking posture that causes wear on the outside of the heel

The outer side of the heel wears out quickly, which is mostly caused by walking with your feet turned inward. If this is the case with your shoes, you may be pigeon-toed. If you often walk in this posture, it is easy for too much pressure to be concentrated on the outside of the foot, increasing its contact with the ground, and increasing the pressure on the ankle and knee joints. Over time, the leg bones will easily deform, forming "O" legs.

If the inside of the sole of a shoe wears out quickly when you wear it, you tend to walk with your feet turned outward. When walking, people often step with their feet turned outward, with the inside of the heel placing more force on the ground and the outside of the heel placing less force. At the same time, if the toes are turned outward at too large an angle, over time the knees will move outward, forming an "X" shape for the legs, and even causing knee pain and accelerating its degeneration.
