Patting to treat varicose veins

Patting to treat varicose veins

Varicose veins are very common in life. Generally, patients with varicose veins have them on their legs. The veins look thick, swollen and purple. Many people do not treat varicose veins because they think it is not a problem. When varicose veins are serious, they may even cause blood vessel blockage. Therefore, varicose veins should be treated appropriately. Many people use patting to treat varicose veins.

Varicose veins are the most common disease of the venous system, and the main cause of their formation is chronic lesions of the venous return vessels. However, as the valve becomes more and more damaged, the degree of varicose vein becomes more and more severe. Due to maintaining the same posture for a long time with little change, blood accumulates in the lower limbs, which damages the venous valves over time and causes high venous pressure, a symptom of blood vessels protruding from the skin surface. Varicose veins often occur in the lower limbs, but can also occur in other areas such as the scrotal spermatic cord, abdominal veins, and esophageal veins in the stomach.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is caused by congenital deficiency, weak tendons and veins, and prolonged walking and standing, excessive fatigue, which further damage the tendons and veins, resulting in meridian disharmony, poor circulation of Qi and blood, blood congestion below, and blood stasis blocking the expansion and filling of the blood vessels, which become entangled and tangled over time. Over time, it becomes like a tumor. Some people may get sick due to long journeys, fatigue, wading through water or rain, or being exposed to cold and dampness, which may cause the cold to clog the blood vessels and stagnate the tendons, veins and joints. If the blood stasis is not dispersed for a long time, it will turn into damp heat, which will flow into the meridians of the lower limbs. If it is triggered by scratching, insect bites, etc., it will fester and turn into sores that are difficult to heal over time.

Symptoms of varicose veins:

1. The surface blood vessels are varicose like earthworms, and the skin is obviously bulging and varicose in a mass or nodular shape;

2. There is a sore and swollen feeling in the legs, which is more severe at night and less severe in the morning. The skin is pigmented and dark in color. The skin is flaky and itchy. There is edema in the feet and ankles;

3. Ascites, hepatosplenomegaly, hematemesis, melena, extensive edema of both lower limbs, pain in the affected limbs, aggravated by movement, sometimes pain when still, aggravated at night

4. There are strange sensations in the limbs, cold limbs, hot flashes in the limbs, the affected limbs become thinner or thicker, and the skin has a tingling, itching, numbness, or burning sensation;

5. The epidermal temperature rises, with pain and tenderness;

6. Toenails (fingernails) become thicker, deformed, grow slowly or stop growing;

7. Gangrene and ulcers occur.

Veins are originally well hidden under smooth skin, so why do they run to the surface of the skin and become so obvious and eye-catching?

This is because of blood stagnation in the veins. The reason for blood stasis is cold, which causes blood to coagulate when it encounters cold.

Patting treatment process: first rub the affected area with blood-activating medicinal wine, and then pat it gently. Because the main cause of varicose veins is blood stasis in the veins, the purpose of patting is to flush out the blood stasis through impact. Do not be too aggressive when patting. Be sure to proceed step by step and pat for a longer time. Usually, purple sha will appear when the legs are patted due to coldness, because the blood circulation is poor, so the absorption of blood stasis will be very slow. Pat the area below the waist until the entire leg feels warm.
