What is the reason for anal redness

What is the reason for anal redness

Our excretory system cannot function without the help of the anus. If we want to have a smooth bowel movement, not only our digestive system must be good, but our anus must also be healthy. Getting a sore throat is a common phenomenon. Some people will suffer from anal pain when they get a sore throat, and it is even more painful when they defecate. Some people suddenly feel redness and swelling in the anus when they are not getting angry, and defecation becomes very inconvenient. Why is this?

Anal redness, swelling and itching is a common symptom of anorectal disease, which refers to a large amount of secretions oozing out of the skin around the anus, accompanied by symptoms of anal itching. Doctors at Quanzhou Boshi Anorectal Hospital pointed out that redness and swelling of the anus are symptoms of many diseases. Patients with redness and swelling of the anus should first undergo a professional diagnosis and then seek treatment.

Causes of anal swelling

1. Anal eczema: It is a skin disease, often accompanied by itching. But sometimes anal eczema is a secondary disease of anal moisture.

2. Genital warts: This disease is a kind of sexually transmitted disease. It can be scattered or connected into pieces, cauliflower-shaped, with a small amount of secretions and a foul smell.

3. Internal hemorrhoids: If the internal hemorrhoids are large and the anus is loose, they will all fall out during bowel movements. Usually, they are half-fallen out of the anus, and the fluid secreted by the mucous membrane will flow out, causing moisture around the anus.

4. Anal fistula: One or several nodules can be felt around the anus, and there are cord-like objects leading from the nodules to the anus, and secretions often flow out and contaminate the underwear. If the body's resistance is reduced, inflammation and swelling may occur, forming perianal abscesses.

What diseases does anal swelling indicate?

Perianal abscess

Perianal abscess is a common anorectal disease, which refers to an acute or chronic suppurative infection occurring in the soft tissue around the anorectum or in the surrounding space, resulting in the formation of an abscess.

Inflammatory external hemorrhoids

Inflammatory external hemorrhoids are mainly caused by inflammation and edema of external hemorrhoids. There are many causes, the most common of which are catching a cold, being tired, going out, drinking, etc. I feel as if my anus is prolapsed, and there is pain, swelling and discomfort.

Thrombosed external hemorrhoids

This is because factors such as straining during defecation and coughing increase abdominal pressure, causing the small veins under the skin around the anus to rupture, resulting in subcutaneous bleeding and blood clots, causing pain and discomfort. The larger the blood clot, the more painful it is. A bluish skin bump can be seen on the surface.

Old anal fissure

Due to long-term and repeated fissures, local inflammation and hyperplasia occur repeatedly, forming a protruding structure similar to external hemorrhoids. Because the hemorrhoid is located just outside the anus, we call it "sentinel hemorrhoid" or "sentinel hemorrhoid". Sometimes it can become inflamed and swollen like external hemorrhoids, causing pain.

What should I pay attention to if my anus is red and swollen?

1. Do not sit still for a long time: Do not sit in a chair for several hours in a row. Even if you have to do so, you should get up and move around for at least 5 minutes every hour.

2. Do not squat on the toilet for too long: The time spent sitting on the toilet should not exceed 5 minutes each time. Especially do not read while sitting on the toilet, as this is an extremely unhygienic habit.

3. Take a warm bath: Soaking your buttocks in warm water may be the best way of treatment. Warm water promotes blood circulation in the affected area, helps shrink swollen veins there, and relieves pain.

4. Do not scratch the affected area: The affected area of hemorrhoids may be itchy, but do not use scratching to relieve the discomfort, as that will damage the fragile venous walls of the rectum and make the situation worse.
