Does uterine cancer affect pregnancy

Does uterine cancer affect pregnancy? Uterine cancer is one of the common tumors of the female reproductive system, which is what we call endometrial cancer. It is more common in women aged 50 to 60 and often occurs after menopause. Many women of childbearing age are particularly worried that the disease will affect fertility. Let's learn about whether uterine cancer affects pregnancy.

Uterine cancer is a malignant tumor and ranks fourth among the most common cancers in women. It has a certain impact on conception. Even if pregnancy is possible, the fragile uterus cannot provide a healthy growth environment for the fetus. Therefore, childbearing is generally not recommended and the disease must be controlled first.

In recent years, the incidence of uterine cancer has been on the rise worldwide. It is highly malignant and can metastasize to many parts of the body: from the uterus down to the cervical canal, from the fallopian tubes up to the ovaries; it can also infiltrate the tissues around the uterus, or metastasize to sites far from the uterus through the lymphatic system and blood circulation.

Women who marry early, have children early, have multiple births, or have disordered sexual lives have a higher incidence of the disease. It is also believed that the cholesterol in the smegma can be transformed into carcinogens after being acted upon by bacteria, and is also an important cause of cervical cancer. If a woman has more than two male partners, her chance of developing uterine cancer increases significantly. The infection of sexually transmitted diseases usually indicates that her sexual life is more complicated, and the chance of developing uterine cancer is relatively higher.

If there is long-term damage, skin breakage, erosion, or inflammation of the cervix, it may turn into early uterine cancer cells. Smoking increases the chance of developing uterine cancer. One reason is that smoking reduces the body's immunity and accelerates the development of uterine cancer cells. Another reason is that smoking itself produces some substances that may lead to the development of uterine cancer cells. Some scholars believe that progesterone can change the stability of cervical epithelial cells, making them prone to abnormal changes, which may lead to the development of uterine cancer cells.

The main treatments for uterine cancer are surgery, radiotherapy and drug therapy. The appropriate treatment plan should be selected and formulated according to the patient's general condition, the extent of cancer involvement and histological type. For early-stage patients, surgery is the main treatment, and adjuvant therapy is selected according to the results of surgical-pathological staging and the presence of high-risk factors for recurrence. For late-stage patients, comprehensive treatment such as surgery, radiation and drugs is used.
