Why is it easy to get rhinitis in autumn

Rhinitis is a common nasal inflammation. Common symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, nasal itching, etc. Sometimes taking medicine does not improve the condition. Many people have it, but rhinitis is not easy to cure completely, and it can only be prevented by medication. Rhinitis is particularly prone to occur in spring and autumn, which is extremely painful for some patients. But why is it easy to get rhinitis in autumn and how should patients with rhinitis prevent it in autumn?

1. Why is rhinitis more likely to occur in autumn?

1. When autumn comes, the temperature difference between day and night is large, the weather is dry, and it is easy to catch a cold. But for some people, a cold may not get better for a week or even half a month. At this time, you must be alert to whether you have allergic rhinitis. Don't mistakenly treat rhinitis as a cold!

2. Autumn is the season when patients with allergic rhinitis suffer. Dry nasal cavity is easily irritated by foreign objects, leading to frequent allergic rhinitis. Common symptoms include: itchy nose, sneezing, clear runny nose, nasal congestion, etc.

The main allergens that cause allergic rhinitis include: indoor and outdoor dust, dust mites, fungi, animal fur, feathers, cotton wool, etc. Food allergens such as fish, shrimp, eggs, milk, flour, peanuts, soybeans, etc. Contact materials such as: cosmetics, gasoline, paint, alcohol, etc.

2. How to prevent

1. Most people pick their noses directly with their fingers, which is actually not good for your health. It can cause nose hair to fall out, mucous membrane damage, and blood vessels to rupture and cause bleeding, which can cause colds, nasal infections, sinusitis, etc.

2. Don’t cut your nose hair casually. Nose hair is the first line of defense for air inhalation, blocking foreign objects and dust particles from entering the nasal cavity. Cutting it off will weaken the nasal defense function and increase the chance of rhinitis.

3. Avoid places with turbid air and serious pollution, and use a mask when necessary. Dust, chemicals and other harmful gases or special odors may cause rhinitis.

4. Reduce the irritation of cold air to the nose. The temperature of the nasal cavity is around 32°C. Too cold temperature will affect the nasal mucosa. Excessively dry air will also restrict the dust removal movement of the nose and reduce its antibacterial ability. It is recommended to increase the indoor humidity appropriately and open windows frequently for ventilation.

5. Eat less spicy, deep-fried, and other irritating foods, such as chili peppers, ginger, fried dough sticks, sesame cakes, biscuits, instant noodles, etc. In addition, you should also eat less seafood, frozen fish, squid and other salty seafood.
