White scar from eye opening

White scar from eye opening

People will be left with certain scars after undergoing canthoplasty surgery. These scars will gradually scab over and eventually fall off during the recovery process. Canthoplasty is a minor surgery, so the scars are usually barely noticeable. However, some people will develop white scars after having their eyes opened. This type of scar is inevitable after having their eyes opened. So what exactly is the reason for the white scars after eye opening?

The skin at the corner of the eye is very thin, and scars from the incision are inevitable after canthoplasty. And unlike double eyelid surgery, the scar can be completely hidden in the double eyelid fold.

According to the basic principles of plastic surgery

Part of the incision during epicanthoplasty can be hidden between the double eyelid line and the eyelid edge, but part of the incision will be exposed at the inner canthus. This mark can be seen within one to two months after the operation, but the scar after the epicanthoplasty will become less and less obvious.

All we need to do is acknowledge it objectively and have enough patience to wait for its full recovery. While waiting for recovery, pay attention to a proper diet and a regular schedule.

In the follow-up survey of patients, most patients indicated that they had their eyes open about one month after the surgery. This should be a relatively painful period. The scar at the inner corner of the eye will be noticeably raised and hard when touched, and may feel itchy. However, about three to six months after surgery, the scars will gradually fade and soften.

Major surgery for eye rupture causes minimal trauma, does not require bandaging after surgery, and has no effect on vision. The stitches can be removed 5 days after the operation, or absorbable sutures can be used to avoid stitch removal. Although it is a minor operation, postoperative care cannot be ignored. In the short term after surgery, you should avoid excessive use of your eyes and prevent eye inflammation.

Because this situation may cause adhesion at the new wound site, affecting the surgical effect. After the operation, you must follow the doctor's instructions, abstain from smoking and drinking, avoid spicy food, and arrange your time for mobile phones and computers reasonably.

Avoid excessive eye strain

Vitamin C application method. Similar to the usage of vitamin E, vitamin C has the effect of whitening. Applying it on scars can help restore the skin tone and make the scars and the surrounding skin color almost the same.
